Body Suit Jabbadashery Neoprene

Sirene

New Hunter
Just got my order of neoprene from the Jabbadashery. It is awesome! Can't wait to get at it with my sewing machine :) I'll post some pics.

Definitely do! And thank you so much for mentioning Jabbadashery--I had never heard of them! What do you think of the Zam fabric (color, sheen, etc)?

I didn't think they were making it anymore. Guess I'll take another look at their website. I had the impression they were out of it, and not getting more.

OK! It would appear they are trying to get this out for people making stuff for the parties and such... Awesome news, Sirene! Makes this alot easier since I won't have to dye my own now!!!

I'm having trouble finding a pattern. How much fabric should I purchase? And who knows where I can find a great pattern for it?

I have not ordered it yet. I'm looking at 3 yards (a little over 2 1/5 meters). I think it's only going to take 1 1/2 to 2 yards to make the actual costume, with the stretchy material in between the neoprene. I don't know for sure yet, but that's my best guess. The other 1/12 is for screw ups or another costume should the first one work well.

I'm using a body suit pattern and adapting it. Going to cut the pattern out of stretchy scrap material I bought first before cutting the precious neoprene.

I'm using Kwik Sew K3052 and going to adapt (as you do). I can't remember - it was so long ago that I bought it! Put this costume on the back burner at the moment.

I actually found that pattern at a sewing class I took last week, and I bought it as I knew it was one of the few people had utilized for this costume. I haven't bought from Jabbadashery yet, but I've got the black matte lycra already. Hopefully, I can buy the neoprene in two weeks.

I'm waiting my jabbadashery fabric. Once I get it, I will begin to buy colors to dye leather and obtain similar colors

That's what I'm using

Depends on what size you are (look at the top for xs, s, m, l, xl). Then follow down. Depends on the fabric width as to how much you need to buy (if I remember correct it was closer to 45"). The first number is imperial - yards I think. The second number in brackets is in meters.

it also shows the amount you would need depending on which direction the stretch of the fabric is longer; crosswise is edge to edge across the bolt, lengthwise should be obvious.

I ordered two pattern from Burda, one for leggins and other for the top. I don´t like bodysuit (yes, I'm thinking in the bathroom moment).

Oh, I didn't even think about using the bathroom, hah!! Does anyone know if the Jabbadashery fabric stretches crosswise or lengthwise?

if i remember correctly, the accurate costume does have the undersuit as a two piece, with the top being a micro crop. there are a few photos in the gallery that hint at this this.
