What's the deal with homeland mail? I don't get it. In both cases, they care about what goes overseas more than they do in the US. SHEASH! I am glad you got your stuff, just wish all the other homies would get theirs too!

According to USPS' tracking site, my fabric is still in MD.

"Status is updated every evening." my arse. :rolleyes

Just curious Zam I Am... were the parcels insured?

um.... No.. I only insured gaeriels and my husband shipped off dallas' (on Friday) and insured his (I didn't know he did until later), but i didn't insure the others last Saturday when I shipped. I couldn't afford it for everyone's. Dallas has not recieved his either which was shipped on Friday, so I will complain to them today. If I had shipped UPS it would have costed me $35.00 per person or more, cause I would have had to repackage the stuff too. I am sorry, I didn't think of having you all pay for insurance too. I was trying to keep the costs low.

Edit** I just called, The USPS usually takes 7-10 business days, so, hopefully by the May 2nd, if you havent recieved it then there is a HUGE problem. Delivery confirmation isnt updated daily. They don't track like UPS. They just say yes, it's arrived. Sorry for the wait and my ignorance, I have never shipped large parcels before.

That's okay! I don't mind the wait (even though I'm very anxious ;) )

Thanks for letting us know they don't update daily. I won't hound the site every day then. I'll check it around May 2nd. My parents will probably call me at work when it arrives since they tend to forget when I tell them I'm expecting a package. :D

I did in fact get it today, and it's just lovely... now I just have to be patient and wait until I get home to unfurl the whole thing...when really I just want to spread it out all over my office.

Dad called and my fabric has arrived!!! :D (y) :D (y) :D (y)

But then he said, "I hope it wasn't fragile..." and my heart sank.

The box was folded in half!!! And as a result the box was split open on one side.

Dad said he thinks it looks okay and he has unfolded the box.

I'll check it tonight after I get out of work!

Looks okay I think!

Zipped over to my parents house after work and here's the package.

Repeating wrinkle in fabric where it was bent in half:

While the wrinkle is a tad irksome, mom and I are confidant it won't show up after we cut the fabric. :) No smudges or snags (my biggest fear) that I can see.

I'm SOOOOO happy! :D (y) You're the greatest Zam I Am.

*hugs her fabric... her.... precioussssss..... ;) *

Oh.. and the greeblie is OKAY! :)

That all has me looking forward to the point I get the complete body suit from ZamIam. I am so happy to see other getting the material and being very happy with the results.

It came fine. The top part did have a rip on one side, but everything inside seems to be just fine.
They must have those apes from the old Samsonite commercial working at the post office.
This made me laugh, I just had to post it.
By the way, all those on the seamstress list will have their stuff packed in other size boxes. And the two remaining non-seamstress people-I will try to styrofoam the boxes so they don't bend. Sorry for that... I didn't know that would happen.

I didn't know if we all formally welcomed Zamsara into the "Fellowship." She acquired Nienumb's fabric. :D I saw her everso briefly at DragonCon. But! she was there at the TDH contest, err... was it the Star Wars contest? I can't remember...both were in the dunwoody room. Anycow, welcome, if I didn't welcome you before. :) Wish I coulda let you try on Dallas' helm and take a better gander at the rest of the parts including the neo suit. Shozbot! Gotta have a zamcon, really... Just not enuff time to talk to everyone at DragonCon about the most important costume ever! ARGHGHG! :D

Hey Girl! It was great to meet u and your hubby in person but way too brief! You looked GREAT!!!! (y) I saw you and said "That HAS to be Zam I Am!!!" I knew that you were so very busy, didnt want to take up too much of your time. But I do wish I could have tried on the helm too, now that I think of it...hehe. So are you going to any more cons in the south any time soon? :)

Zamsara~Not really. Just doing a bunch of stuff with our local 501st.

I will be going to the local Tandy leather today 9/20 to visit, because they helped me so much with the leather products, I told them I would show up in costume :D

The crop top and welted pants: I wound up doing all the button holes and the snap for the leg greeblie, make suspenders/with buttons.
My seamstress did everything else. This is the front shot:

This is the back shot:

I did not get to see the seamstress, as she got hit really bad with the hurricane. Flooding and power outtage. I don't think it affected her store, just her house.

Yeah.... I was wondering how you guys fared back there in MD? Hope everyone is okay! :)

Thanks, we actually missed it by *that* much.(insert hairpin) Everone else got it bad. Someone was praying for us I think, cause people that got it, got it bad. No power 2 days, or more, and flooding, not to mention the trees falling on top of cars/houses etc. I had it bad right before Dragon Con! Weird how those gargantuan nature thrillers work. Most have the problems like ours, if your electricity goes off, so does your sump pump and thus your basement floods and your food goes bad. But our house didn't get hit at all, we were really fortunate.

Glad I live in Holland, we never have storms like that, although sometimes we do have floodings. Isn't it terrible to live in the knowledge that your house might be gone after the next storm?

OK all, I am going to see the seamstress today to fix the vest pattern and finally wear the suit for her to see if there are any more problem areas. This is the last and final pattern alteration that will be made.
