Bama_Trooper152, I don't know why you didn't step into the pic, you were there with holly! Yeah, it's always fun to talk shop and I was glad to finally meet you too. I was just really impressed at how cressie did it all for $250. She wants to improve, but if I were her, I would keep the 2 - one budget zam and one that she wouldn't mind spending into the higher price range/with more of the details that she wants in there. Unfortunately, the more accurate you get, the more it usually costs whether it's money or time. Wish it wasn't that way, but research takes up so much time. Like reference pics - zoomming in on each mm, then trying to scale each pic to size on your monitor, printing out the ones you want to use etc. So, people wind up usually paying for it by having someone else do it or wind up forever with their cropping pics to get it right. I lucked out with DCB and Moncal and fellow TDH'ers back in D'Con 03'. DCB did my helm, blaster, (and gauntlets before they broke), Moncal did my raw shingaurds (minus leather), beads, and a hose (uncut, unpainted), my seamstress did sew most of my crop top and pants, and Hubby and I did everything else with constant critiqueing from others. I hope to in the next millennia, build everything else I didn't personally build - from scratch for version 2.0, but I am going to take forever and my grand ol' time, cause, with kiddies, it's going to totally a lazy hobby for me from now on not going to give myself any time constraints like I did before
We want one on a mannequin that hasn't been trooped in and totally massacred. Oh, one thing that I didn't point out that I was proud of, is that Hubby did a new set of spikes for me
he made 'em outta foam instead of resin so that they wouldn't break! I must've replaced those resin ones at least 7 times!
