DragonCon '07 - Zammer Photo

Sounds great! The RL photoshoot is Sunday at 11:30am, so this won't interfere. I'll be there with a professional photographer(yup, dragging the b/f) if anyone wants a group picture and i'll post the link afterwards. I can't wait to meet all of you!

sounds good at the moment, but our Zam being finished is now kinda up in the air as we are waiting for our gauntlets and not sure if they will arrive in time for clawdites zam to be done for Dcon

We still want you in the pic! Have your wife wear another costume... If my plan B doesn't work out... I may be something decidedly non-Star Wars!

i was thinking of buying her a pair of boots and making her a pair of scout boots and getting her a new undersuit and lettign her wear my scout armor...but it still really is a major let down as we worked so hard over the last few months to get her zam done for this...we are still tossing around some possible ideas for temporary gauntlets

Well, we're currently planning on doing our Resident Evil gear in the parade... but if you don't care if we look a little out of place afterwards, Lonewolf and I will be there

We don't care how you're dressed! Besides at DragonCon... no one looks out of place

I won't be able to make it then. The Droid Hunt is that day so I have to haul my butt back to the table right after the parade to get that going. Hopefully I'll meet up with a bunch of you though during the Con or when I'm working at the TDH booth!

I think our Garrison is getting together after the parade too for a photo...

Not a Zam but wouldn't mind seeing all of you together. Can't wait to see everyone at DC 2007.

What about after the TDH group photo after TDH dinner?

Yeah... I think a lot of groups and garrisons are ...

Problem with the dinner.. a lot of people aren't going to the dinner I am, but I don't know of any other Zammers going.

We could also do the photo Sunday?

I think that the parade ends at around 10:00 so I think the 11:00 hour would work, cause garrison shots right after would afford everyone else an hour to get together afterwards - can you tally up the yays vs. the nays for 11:00 on Saturday? I don't want to dress up in Zam on Sun.

So just to make sure, we don't have to have our Zam ready to be in the photo? There is no way I will have Aimee's Zam done by then...

No of course not! ... Mine hit the skids too. We just want a picture of the Zammers as a group. If you're in a Zam costume Great! If not... we still want you!

Saturday 11 is fine with me... as long as we think everyone can make it from the parade and after the group photo shoots.

Depending on where it's going to be taken, I might be able to slip away from the Droid Hunt for 15 or 20 so I'll have to be a maybe. I'd really like to participate though!

Any objections to an oldtimer showing up> I can have my tripod and Camera with me for takeing group shots. It has been about a year to two years since I really have even peaked into here.

Yeah, I saw that the parade was starting at 10... lasts 20-30 minutes. Pictures are another 30 to 40 minutes from my memories of DC 2002 and 2003. I dunno about 11 to 11:15.

The TDH Booth does NOT have a set place yet except being with the other club booths, inside the bottom floor of the Marriott (I think??) which isn't easy to get to either... *sighs*

Do we still want to shoot for 11 or push it back to 12?

I'd like to be in the photo as well. My Zam is far from being finished (I'm still gathering pieces) but I will be at Dragon Con.

You're added to the list! Wow... thats what? At least 14 of us! Cool! I didn't realize we had so many Zammers!

Think on this. I can count 4 of us who have been here basically from the start.

And some of us haven't finished yet... .... Soon dang it ... Soon!!! I will get this blasted Zam done if it kills me!!! Arrrrgghhh!!!!!!!

What else do you have to finish MM? You need a MM progress thread. :LOL Hey, I am still not finished either I will probably be in the parade without most of what I said I was going to finish in the last 3 years Hope to not wilt away before the pics in hotlanta. Gatorade, a must for me-will probably show up in most of the pics. It will be a great to play catch up with yall and meet some of you newer zammers.

No Zam for DC... Sorry ZIA. Some parts didn't get finished for me in time for me to get them done. I don't have gauntlets for example. Next DC. That's my mantra! Actually next DC I'm gonna have so many costumes, I won't know what to wear!

If gauntlets are all that is missing, you should bring your zam over - seriously ~ I won't have my gauntlets! I smashed mine up at the 2nd convention I went to! I still have a kazillion daggone upgrades! I have OCD about having my gauntlets "perfect" ~ but the timespan between me touching the original sculptures is so ludicruslly ridiculous, both originals sculpts I made have had crumbled - and I am not even using a water based clay! . Besides, it would be fun to talk shop with you face to face with your zam parts en tow. With me having a second kiddie, I am not so sure I will be going to another d'c. So I gotta see it! Pleeease?!?! with sugar on top?

Sorry ZIA... no can do.. It's sitting here in a million pieces in my office/workroom/disaster area. I can bring some of the parts if you want to talk "Zam-Shop!" (ERm.. not the helmet though.. too blasted hard to transport on the plane if I'm not gonna wear it). Once I realized the gauntlets weren't gonna make it... I switched gears to another costume. :/

You'll make it to DC again!!! Trust me! You'll want a break from the kiddies!

sorry folks...but i doubt Jamie and I will be making the zam picture...as far as the parade...we will be marching with the 501st group...Im sure we'll bump into some of you guys as it will be nice to see the faces to the screen names...MM, look me up for sure as I will be in Maul attire sometime this weekend...

Yeah... I'm thinking it's gonna be too close too. I'll probably be hanging around the booth after the parade for a while.

FYI: JD and everyone I'm working the booth Friday 1-3 and Saturday 3-5, so stop by and say hello!!! I'll be on the lookout for Zam's (of course! ) and Maul's *duh!*

If it's anything like the parade prior, it runs north on Peachtree St. NE/NW (yes, there are several) past the Hard Rock, et cetera, turns right on Baker just past the Hyatt and ends at the Marriott's lower level motor court on Courtland, across from the Hilton. It's all of 7-8 blocks.

I have not been to this forum in a Loooong Time! I'll see if I can swing by the table after the parade Saturday morning. But I'd be in my Battlestar Galactica Costume which would be kind of odd.

I really should see about getting a TDH T-shirt huh!

Ahhh! I knew there was someone I was supposed to look out for at the RL photo shoot. Dang, why didn't you walk up to me girl?! LOL! I guess neither of us was recognizing each other! I was in a daze half the time at the Con. I don't do well with only a few hours of sleep each night. (and for those who get Zero sleep, I don't know how you function. LOL!)

All the Zams I saw looked great. Congrats to JDFett and Jamie for the win in the MOTF costume contest. Your costume turned out great and I'm glad I got to see at least one Zam costume up close in person.

I couldn't make it to the photo shoot on Saturday because I ran off to the Battlestar Galactica panel right after the parade. I actually missed the BSG panel because they changed the rooms and I forgot to stop and check the easel outside the ball room. Figures huh?

sorry Jamie couldnt make it...she was really dehydrated...I spent almost an hour looking for her after the parade in my maul costume sweating to death myself...i found her sitting in front of our room at the hyatt(i had the key) with another fellow NEG member...almost passed out on the floor! She loved marching with you guys though!

we almost missed the parade...had a pretty rough night the night before

Glad to meet your guys in person after years on this forum!!!

It was great to see all the Zam build methods and materials at once too, an invaluable experience for our quest to improve our costume build...

im convinced it's definatley a con desease...jamie and i also have something thats lasted about...well since we got back...kind of a serious coughing lung deal....its got better but it still shows itself as a intermittent shallow cough that is pretty much useless....

Oh man, I got the SAME cold! It's awful, breathing alone makes me cough. It's worst when I go to bed. I dreaded coughing tonight so I've been up all night on the computer That cold sure spread like wildfire. I really hope it goes away soon and doesn't turn into bronchitis (maybe it already is *shrug*).

A bunch of us caught a sinus cold here in Atlanta before the con. I had been recovered for 3 days before dragon con from what I had, but I am sure it was possible you could have caught that. Thing is no coughing was involved from when I had the sinus cold. just a lot of stuffed nose and feeling worn out.

Our 2 roomies got con crud... I am shocked and super glad that hubby and I didn't. Thank goodness.

Finally... got the pictures done and ready to go... Sorry it took so long. And Please... forgive me if I get someone's name wrong. :o You have my permission to slap me upside the head next time we meet if I do that!

Not been a good day... started off with a flat tire ... and because I have no tread on the two back ones (including the flat one ) I get to buy some new ones. And of course they can't be inexpensive tires... Nooooo they have to be expensive and a hard to find size. Sorrry... ranting here... Where's the rum... or any drink. I"m not picky. I need a con. Any con. I'm not picky.

I promise i'm not abandoning my Zam, just got busy with new projects- or maybe I'm waiting on MaulMaus to finish her Zam so I can use it as a reference for my upgrades - cause I know it's going to be good!
