C4 and Dragon Con Zammers

We're going to be going.
We've bought 4 day passes for the family but we're not totally sure if we're going to be there the whole 4 days yet.
edit..it would be 5 days if you count the fan day.

I wish i was going but im suffering from lack of cash so John is going on his own. Look after him!

We're gonna take a pass this year... WAY too expensive.

I'm going to C4! I really hope I can meet some of you there - even though I won't have my Zam costume done.

Yeah.. it is definitely an expensive trip. We'll be driving again like we did for C3 and it's about the same distance ... about 15 hours or so .. so we'll stay an extra day to rest up for the drive back.... plus I'm hauling a bunch of stuff for the droid room... death star panels and a trailer full of droids for myself and friends.

Since we live in the northern end of San Diego we're considering driving back and forth each day. It's no worse then us driving to Disneyland all the time. Try to save on hotel rooms-those things are expensive!! I think it'll keep the kids saner as well. They're 3 and 6. They've been going to Comic-Con every year, we always come home each night which I think it the only reason we survive LOL

I don't know if any of you have been participating in the threads for the TDH booth and dinner, but all of you at C4 have to be there for both! Having Zam experts stopping by the booth, or volunteering to work the booth would be awesome! You've all got to come to the TDH dinner too. It would be great to meet you.

My wife and I will be there, the costume wont be ready by then though, maybe another year.

Blah, that doesnt cover food etc. and the aggravation of hauling a toddler through LAX and zam stuff. Yah, Indy was way easier. Talked it over with hubby, I think we are going to have to sit out on this one. I am really sorry dudes and dudettes. KnC, I would've enjoyed that but, don't think I can make it this time around. I know, boo on me. You have to get some super duper extra pics of anything they got in the props/costume dept! Like if a certain kyd blaster shows up, would be nice!

between the Dcon trip labor day weekend, and then shortly after flying to chicago to see my daughter graduate from navy boot camp, and then again to florida to see her graduate from advanced school...just cant get the funding to goto C4 as well...have fun all and ill see some of you at Dcon!

Every Year - Same Place - Same Time!

Always wanted to go to Dragon Con tho i think i dont have a skimpy enough costume, most of the lovely ladies there seem to wear little at all haha!

Yeah - there is a lot of skin showing... Barricade Tape comes to mind It's a combination of me being chicken and being too old I guess - I just can't do that. Maybe that's why I've got a Zam costume? I still have fun - even if I'm not in costume, DC is still a blast!

I swung by TDH both but the 2 that were there weren't anyone who knew me. I haven't really made myself overly known around these parts.
The first couple days have been fun, I'm hoping more coxtumes will be about today and I can find some of you. We'll see

We attended Friday and Saturday. I stopped by the Dented Helmet booth VERY briefly on Saturday, and we went to the Bounty Hunter, Imperial and X Wing costuming panels, so I know we saw some of you there! My man wants to do a Jango now, so he'll be on the forums a lot in the near future...

I finally met with MonCal and Kathy! But I didn't get to see any Zam costumes! Not one!!! Tons of Fetts (Boba and Jango) but not one Zam...

Worked the TDH booth Thursday - quite a number of people asked about the Zam helmet and blaster I brought! That was cool!

I only saw one Zam costume and it was a member of this forum but her name escapes me (I'm really really bad with names). I introduced myself to her and took a look at the costume up close. It was very impressive!

Was it anyone listed up top?

That explains it, she said her husband was on TDH but she wasn't. She looked great. It's the first Zam I had seen in person and I was very impressed.

Foxbattkllr, you going to Dragon Con? I think you might see 5 of us ... Mebbe? Me, Iceheart, Maulmaus (PRESSURE), (MORE PRESSURE Clawdite77) and (Zamgram you goin?). I don't know of anyone else who has a semi-completed/completed costume that can make it. Foxbatkillr, you have been so helpful to us Zammers, with all of your photos. Those preliminary FIDM shots and stuff did a world of awesomeness for all of us. Hopefully you can go.

<whisper>I stopped by the TDH booth on Friday and first offered to fill shifts and then expressed my disappointment that there was no sign of Zam or any of the other BHs at the table. Oh well, the mandos get all the love...</whisper>

Next up - Celebration Europe - woohoo! And Comic-Con - woohoo! But no Dragon*Con, again - boo!

wOOOH... that is the best Zam costume I have seen so far !!! I really love all the shades and colors... !!! Really really impressed !!!

Dang it... I didn't see the costume at all. I was in that hall just before the costume contest for the "Living with the Empire" or some such talk with the Imperial Officers of Star Wars - which was great.. and the costume contestants were lined up - I didn't see Zam! Admittedly I had a whiny 9-year old and a complaining hubby at the time so I might have been a bit distracted... *sighs*

I was at the TDH Booth on Thursday with my box-o-Zam-Love! I think I was the only Zammer the whole weekend though. I did score the first TDH Shirt of the con! Nothing like walking advertisement!

It's over and I didn't see a single Zam except for the pictures here.
One thing I didn't like about this con that Comic-con does...names on badges.
Every single one of you could have been standing right next to me and I would not have actually known.
Now that C4 is over it's time for me to start ordering my bits and pieces to get this show on the road. No way I'll have it for comic-con unless I ditch my family and become a hermit until it's done though...yeah right

Aw, I missed you as I had to work on Thursday.

I stopped by on Friday but all of the shifts had already been filled. I couldn't volunteer earlier because I hadn't received my convention schedule.

Yeah me too. cos if the US shares info with anyone else I could have this happen again in another country!!!
I need to get the police force that questioned me to talk to your embassy over here. then I have to schedule an interview with the US Embassy myself to get my files 'cleaned up' All this info came from a £1.40/minute phone line. Recorded messages most of it!!!

I saw Kathy - I was behind her in the squishy picture (501st group pic) in my Snowtrooper. I asked if she was a TDH'er and she said no, but her husband Cal was. Unfortunately, Cal was further down the line and I didn't get a chance to meet him. I asked around a little the next couple of days but no one either knew who Cal was or if they did, where he was. I really would have LOVED to have met you, Cal!! I got to spend some time with Tony and Aimee which was cool! I'm not sure if I met up with any other Zammers and just didn't put two and two together. Hopefully at DC more of us can hook up!

Thanks all for the compliments!!!! It was one of our hi-lights of the trip for sure. She wore her zam the whole day on Friday and also for the 501st photo. We did swing by the TDH table a couple times. She was in costume when Turo was at the booth.

I was glad to meet those of you who I could and bummed I didn't run into others. It was so busy and the whole thing went by in a blurr for me.

This is actually the first time I've been able to check the boards since I've been home. I've had a ton of things to deal with.... so I'll get to pms and such as soon as I can and apologize for my slowness.

I thought it was really awesome that both Kay-dee and my wife were up there on stage together. Kathy I'll send you all my photos that I took with your stuff.

Stupid Question: When is the parade?

We can check on when the parade is... lasts like 1/2 hour... 45 minutes right? Give some time for the normal disorganization and potty-breaks... 11-ish would be just about right.

I'm on the parade organization team for the 501st. Usually there is some time just after the main 501st picture for smaller group pictures before the parade gets under way. We are the last group in the parade. I know that not everyone here is necessarily 501st but it's a good location for pictures so I thought I'd throw it out there. Even if some are RL members and marching with them, they are generally staged right in front of us so it would be easy to meet up for pictures.

Ohhh....and in case anyone is wondering what happened...I had my board name here changed to match my board name everywhere else. It was BFett333

Yeah, I'd figured the 501st pictures is for the 501st, TDH for the TDH... there are a lot of non-finished zammers as well as some that might get finished, and a lot of zammers that want to meet each other and take pics regardless of whether their costumes are finished. That's why I mentioned after the parade and stuff. Those that want their 501st pics taken can have them taken whenever they set up their times, but this "meet up" was just for us TDH zammer groupies.

Oh I know that ZIA - however after the 501st picture last year there was a whole bunch of folks who had other pics done. Some were garrison pics - some were detachment pics. Some were pics of non-501st costumes like the custom Fetts. I just made the suggestion because there will likely be several of us in one place anyway waiting to start the parade.....and there was a lot of time to wait along with it being a nice-ish place for a group photo whether you're in your Zam, some other costume, or just street clothes. Just throwing out a suggestion, that's all.

not sure what Jamie is going to want to do or how often she is going to get into her zam gear...but a group photo would be cool...either way im sure a Darth Maul and a zam may show up at TDH booth to say howdy to maulmaus

I wanna go to DCon so bad! I live, like, 30 minutes away!

But, unless some miracle happens and a helmet and gauntlets magically fall into my lap, along with a wedding planner, I dunno if I can do it!

Besides, I would be the shortest Zam there! (At 5'0") Not too screen acurate, but, meh... :-)
