Black underneath purple crop top

I don't see it as an existing thread so I'm starting a new one. Sorry if it's around here already and I just can't find it.
Is that just a black body suit underneath the purple crop top?
Could I just get a black "underarmor" shirt to wear and get the same look? Jon wears the underarmour under his Stormtrooper and doesn't overheat. With all the layers of heavy material and leather I thought it would be nice to start with as light a layer underneath as possible.
And practically speaking, if it's a full bodysuit, I would think that trying to go to the bathroom would be quite the adventure as you'd have to remove an awful lot on top.

I just took a black leotard and cut the bottom and sewed on an extra piece of lycra and snaps.

From a comfort standpoint
would you recommend something with a little sleeve to it like you show in your graphic or do you think something like a cami would work (small spagetti type straps)
I am looking to minimize the layers as much as I can without getting uncomfortable. ;)

I would say have a sleeve in it from the point of view of washing. The last thing you want is sticky deoderant marks on your neoprene which is hard to clean.

If the black piece is detatchable which it seems to be its easy to wash :)

Yah- I would have short sleeve. I just didn't do that, and I still have long sleeves, cause that's what I bought at the thrift store. I put in my pic that you could have tacking stitches. But in hindsight, definitely leave the tacking stitches off. Easier to wash like Langsuir666 says. Not to mention, you will sweat through to the neoprene. You can wash neoprene on gentle cycle, and I put it on the delicate cycle to dry, but the best is to not use heat to dry, you don't want it affecting the lamination and, I would wash the leotard/underarmor and just not wash the neoprene as much if possible.

Things on top of the underarmor/leotard = vest, chest armor, mock hood. You aren't gonna see nuthin... The only thing I would watch is the side by the vest lacing, that will be seen. Make sure there isn't a wierd stripe on the side, (which I don't see) and you should be fine. The only thing i would caution about is, will the tummy line or the bottom part of the underarmor ride up? If you have suspenders like a good zammer, then it shouldn't. ;)

I am going to head over to Sports Chalet and try it on to see if it rides. That was one thing that came to mind.
I also see Underarmour makes both shorts and, I was surprised by this for some reason, underwear. I thought that would help with rubbing points for the pants.
This would be perfect underneaths for my Jedi as well. I didn't pick material that breathes at all, I went more style over substance. The section where you have your under shirt, over shirt, obi, sashed and belt all layered on top of each other is really really hot.
