Zoltan Tyrell's Jango Jetpack

I am proud to post the WIP for Zoltan Tyrell's Jango Pack. With any luck this will be complete over the next week or so.

Here she is as of tonight. Not very exciting, but give it time

Was happy with mine off Rob when I got it! Look forward to the updates Rob!

Excuse my ignorance as I'm new but is that a MOW jet pack? Or it must be a newer version as I see some details not known to mine.

This is not a MOW jetpack! It is a Bobby Fett Uk Jetpack (BFUK)

HA! Allow me to take a moment and disengage the foot resting within my mouth! I'm learning slowly but surely, really does look wicked though!

I got the yellow down today. I will be putting the last coat on tomorrow and then masking and puting the blue down on Friday. No photos yet, but they are coming.

Don't worry about it, I would think the majority of packs out there currently are Christian's work.

I would love to and I have done some research and got a load of reference material together, but it is finding the time to do it.

Loving it! Hey maker, quick question, how are you holding your warhead on? I wanted to attach it to a piece of pvc pipe of proper dimension as a "male" end and just slide it down into the pack which would be the "female" end. Just wondering how yours is/will attach. Thanks.

That would work fine. My kit comes with a section of bolt/threaded rod embedded into the bottom of the warhead, it simply slots into the top section (with teeth) and is secured with a wing nut and washers inside. Same goes for the thrusters.

Ok, I got the white done. The yellow is much more orange than the first photo and more representative. Now this is not how to paint a ROTJ scheme, but things can be done differently for Jango as it is not one big topical job, looks a little scrappy but will all come good with the blue and red! I am off work Monday and Tuesday, so this could be all finished up then.

Looking real good mate. Had any more thoughts on the harness?

Harness is going well, just got a nice big fat heavy duty sewing machine to help out with the webbing too. I am planning for it to be as accurate as possible from what we can see of it in ref photos and that includes the 3rd - lower clip.

I will confirm the extras too, did you want the light in the beacon also?

Ok, so what I did not get a photo of was the pack after masking, a quick rub down and shot of primer to give a nice even base.

Here it is with a shot of blue. I knwe the blue was not quite right but I was not feeling it in the pot, so after a nice blue base coat I can see we need to add a little purple to the mix......so off to get some paint. More to come later.

You working through this quickly! You finished on your jetpack bulids these days?

I am currently making my own and trying to put my Fett back together Phil. I have some more to make on a trade kind of basis, but I am not under pressure to get them out quickly, which is good. Tomorrow I am on with some other projects, one of which is the shin tools, but I will be getting this blue sorted and some other finishing bits.

Re the blue, I got another shade of blue down, but still not how i want it, so I am going to try and get a better match tomorrow. Also, I got that Jango specific Pack detail sorted, will post it up tomorrow with photos.

Ok. I have now reapplied the blue in a much better shade, but before w get to that, as my first Jango pack build and paint I noticed that the classic Jango pack has an extra detail when compared to Boba's. Not seen this mentioned before, but then again, I don't follow many Jango threads (to my shame). So anyway, here is the detail before painting so it stands out.

Ahh. I dont think ive ever looked that close at them myself. But, cool.

Makes sense that there are gonna be some extra bits. They always tinker at lucasville.

Wow! Great progress. Anything iis better than what I have . . And I repeat . . .anything is better than what I have. Keep up the good work!

Little update.



Spent the morning masking again. Then got the red down before leaving for work this afternoon. Will unmask her tomorrow. That is the colours finished, next stage is the decals and stripes, then a satin clear coat to seal it all.

Ok, getting close now. This is not the best look and deffo the clown stage, more so than Boba as it doesn't have the scratches and damage, but the weathering will tone it down and blend it all together.


Tomorrow I will be getting on with the Thrusters and the Warhead. I will also apply the decals and clear coat to seal it using a satin varnish.

The colours are to tie in with the future Boba I would geuss. They are very close to the Rotj style. But pretty new looking.

I suppose, if you think about it, Jangos jet pack was destroyed on kamino so they could have, if they wanted, have gone with anything. But it makes sense i suppose to have it the same as Bobas.


If im being picky, and i am, They should have had Jango with the arena pack being destroyed on Kamino and then in the arena he has the colourful one we all know. That way when Jango dies, Boba inherits the helmet and the Jetpack.

I really like the look so far. Hopefully, I can find an amazing jetpack like that for me some day as well

Maybe it was an honour thing, Like Damon Hill using his dad's helmet design type of thing. Or maybe the Mitrinomon Z-6 only comes that colour and the ESB was a Lucas Film continuity error best forgoten about?

Yeah. I think it must have been, as you say, only comes in that colour.
I cant see jango choosing that colour scheme.

The ESB one is for another member, I have another ESB to paint next week too for another member. This one is due for delivery any time soon.

THat shows how much attention i pay. Didnt even know the ESB version was that colour
