WIP: Tripled - Son's Jango Fett

Triple d

Hunter
Well. While waiting for parts and such, I have begun the process of making a Jango Fett Constume for my son. He has really been interested in my Boba Fett so......

Here is the start of the project. By the way. Dynamic1's Boba Fett inspired me. I am going to take the kids hasbro helmet, sand it down and paint it Jango Style. (Thats the plan anyways).

I haven't figured out how to do the gauntlets yet but I have time!

Here is the armor. Sintra. Scaled for his body (as quick as it is growing) Hopefully it will be the right size around Halloween!

So heated up the Sintra tonight and formed it to my sons body. Ok. That sintra is neat stuff. Cools in a matter of seconds. Still got a little more work to do on some of the pieces but turned out pretty good! My son is pretty excited.

Looks great man! Now comes the fun part..enjoy the process and dont hesitate to ask questions as this community knows there Sh..! : )

Made some more progress tonight. Couple things:

Sanded the Hasbro Helmet. Now I just need to fill in the dent and fill in the seam in the middle of the helmet.

Also used rub-n-buff (Silver Leaf) on the two shoulder parts of the armor. (Phew, arms sore with all the sanding and buffing!!)

Thanks Dynamic1! Question for the board. I tried to fill in the dent last night with Bondo. It would stick. (Dang it) What would anyone else recommend? I know Jango's helmet gets the dent during the battle but I kinda didn't want it in this helmet. Another question, is using Rub-n-buff ok on the plastic of the Hasbro helmet? I seem to recall reading a post in here somewhere (of course can't find it now) that it wasn't good for a toy. If not rub-n-buff what color spray paint would match the rub-n-buff silver leaf. Rustoleum Aluminum?
Thanks

Here's my two cents (whic is only worth about 1.5, based on inflation and my lack of experience) - I personally would hit it with some sandpaper, primer it, hit with some 1200 wet sand, then R&B. Regarding the bondo NOT sticking, which is what I think you meant to say: rough the plastic up in the dent with some 200 grit paper. It should stick then. Good Luck!!

Ha! Thanks OBrother! Yeah when I sanded it I sanded it with 220. The bondo did not stick. Peeled right up when it dried (perfect dent shape too!)

Hey triple d- Ya, when I did the armor for my son (for the cod piece) I attempted to bondo the front and I ended up using that foam piece as The same issue arose. Im sure some more experienced guys on here would have a better remedy for this, or at least know what will adheses to plastic. Try to pm jinto, sandysith, Fett 4 real etc..as these guys and many many more have great insite!

I love this place. Thanks again Chucko! Worked like a charm. Bondo'ed the dent and the seam and also got it primed this weekend. Going to wet sand it over the next couple of days and then onto Painting the blue parts then rub-n-buff!

Ok. Painted the helmet over the past couple of days and removed the tape tonight. Now time for Rub-n-Buff and then the pinstripes!
