I replied to the lady of the company who handles sales and told her I couldn't use or afford 500 yards of bolo. She came back with a counter price quote on a smaller amount of bolo material. Here's what she wrote as it is cut and pasted:
I haven't figured out what that comes to yet a yard, but take a look at the color chart on the third page of the weblink above and tell me what color you think would be idea.
Maybe this is possible?

Also, I seem to recall seeing a guy selling some of this stuff on e-bay a while ago... I asked him if he had any 6mm stuff.. and that was when he told me it came from India...and said might be getting some in the next few weeks.

Yeah I'm seeing red-brown, granda, light-brown, and tan as possibles. I asked her for a better picture showing the brown colors better but she sent me the same one posted.

A few sugestions though:
1) We might want to start a seperate intrest thread for this in the cargo hold. I think it will get more attention that way.
2) We might want to go with a lighter brown (or plain). That way we can dye it to our own desired color.

SWFreak, that's a good point and I think that would be the safe route to go if we can't get upclose pics of the different brown colors and find one we all agree looks good. I emailed the sales rep, Satish, and asked for upclose pics that more clearly showed the shades of brown and got no reply. So, I then emailed her and asked her assuming up close pics are not available, could we go with the brown shown on the website 4 ply sample and asked if that would be the same cost, and I have yet to hear from her. So I'm just being patient...don't want to annoy the supplier.
As far as another interest post your probably right but we only needed a couple more people interested so I hadn't worried about it. But I can post if you'd like.

****Just a note- I used approximately 23 yards for my 21 strand belt and I measure 38"-39" in my waist around my flightsuit and vest. I cut the strands into 41" long pieces giving me some room to trim the uneven ends. And after that I ended up having to cut another 2 inches off to make the belt snug when sinched up.

Naw, I took every strand all the way to the end and then used a lot of glue when I assembled the ends. I then took a 1/4" punch and pounded a hole right threw the tanned hide piece and strands. But I did try to locate the holes so they would only punch through one strand.
