    Oct 1, 2010, 11:10 PM - Westars lately? #1

So, I've been away from my Jango for a while and want to get back to work. However, one of the things that has always discouraged me is this piece of the costume because it is so ridiculously hard to find. MR's seem to have dropped off the face of the earth (unsurprisingly).

Has anything else come along lately?

Cruzer used to have a fantastic set but I think he said his molds were shot. Anyone else making these now? In kit form or otherwise?

It's going to come down to a Rubies re-work for me before long but that still just makes me cringe as there's only so much you can do to those.

    Anyway, thanks for the information.

Nyx - I'm new to this, but I did manage to find a company that will send you a digital catalog, which includes the Westars. Send an email to arsenalmodels@aol.com with "Digital Catalog" in the subject line.

Just so I don't steer you wrong (unintentionally) you might want to research them around TDH boards a bit, though I haven't read anything negative (or positive) about them to date. Good Luck!

If you can't get through, send me a PM w/ your email and I can forward the catalog. If they're on the level, they have some good looking items at extremely reasonable prices.

Pretty sure I read those folks were re-casters somewhere... Would prefer to avoid going that route for obvious reasons.

    Any other ideas?

Their kits are a bit rough but nice enough for the price. I bought one and the two halves were very uneven. I was just about to start work on it when I got a set of MR's on the bay for 300. The arsenalmodels kit would be more accurate than converting a rubies one but then it is a recast and thats bad darts..

Nyx - After I posted, I researched a bit more and did find one post that mentioned the "recasting." That's too bad. I apologize for passing on less-than-favorable information. Just an FYI: A set of MR Westars just ended on ebay a few hours ago...$710! "HOLY SCHNIKIES!"

Good luck in your search, Brother!

Rodsa - I hear ya, Brother! I periodically remind my other half of the "great deal" I got on my MR Vader EPII Helmet, every time I see on go for $800 +.
