TK-4426 Jango Progress

I am going to keep a running progress of my Jango build:

Ok, the armor is cut, sanded, and fully rub n buffed - will post pics when I get home.

Installing snaps on everything this week.

Main body of the Jet Pack is painted; here is the pic.



Need to get weathering done on all pieces and paint up my blasters.

Got the remote control range finder on my bucket installed and man is it cool.

Gauntlets(Cruzer's) are primed and waiting to be put together- then rub n buffed.

Have a question on snaps for the vest.

What is best? Using goop to put them on or try to put them on with their backings? Reason I ask is the vest (Loanstar's making) has very thick shoulders and the backings are shorter and I have never used the hammer tool to apply snaps, only the handheld grip tool which does not reach 90% of the snaps. I am afraid the goop wont hold and the backings will tear the vest.

Use snaps for the vest. The hand snap plier doesn't do a really good job. I recommend using the line 24 snaps from tandy, they are smaller snaps. They also have a longer stud. I'm sure Cruzer will back me on that. Buy the setting tools and the universal hole punch. I wouldn't mess with adhesive on the vest. Do it right the first time, especially if your spending the money to get a nice leather vest. Then, depending on what your armor is made of, take the male end of the snap and just CA glue it directly to the back of the armor at all the corners. Using NCF quick accelerator makes this very easy.

One more thing. Attach the male portion to the armor FIRST. Put a little bit of Rub-n-Buff on the snaps, then place them in the correct position on your vest. WHEN WEARING IT. POOF! You have little R&B circles on your vest in the exact spot where you should punch the hole for the 2nd half of the snap.

Jango 5204 is steering you in the right direction if you want to use the best snaps available. Recommend using the line 20 snaps for all the upper body, except the backplate use line 24. Line 20s are smaller and will allow your armor to sit more flush with the leather. Line 24s are bigger and will hold the larger backplate better.

Well I took it out for a spin today at the Where Science meets Imigination exhibit at the local science museum. Was a HUGE hit with the kids, got mobbed and needed to do some quick repairs but went right back to it.

Here I am post-mobbed.



Just need some final tweaking and to dirty it up a bit and I think I am squared away!

I think it looks great. Just 1 suggestion, the pack seems to sag a bit low. You may wanna raise it up a little bit, kinda like how the Boba is, where the top of the main part of the jet pack is even with shoulders.

PM me for tips on raising your jet pack, I had to do that with mine as well.
