    Jul 17, 2009, 3:09 PM - Star Fortress Jango Boots #1

Hi all. I know all about Star Fortress so let's not even go there. I have been on their site and was wondering if any of you have bought the Jango Boots that they make/sell. If you don't want to post here, then please PM me & I will be discreet about it. Like most of the items on the site they are a bit "grainy & faded". I just want to see how the sole of the boots look & if the color is close to the Kenneth Cole's. As I am putting my Jango together, the last items I need are the girth belt & the boots. Again this post is not endorsing Star Fortress.

I bought a pair of their Jango boots around 3 years ago (before I really knew anything about the people). I still use them today! They are very comfortable and durable, but you need to get the zipper on the side replaced ASAP.

Alright, here's a pair of SFP Jango boots. I picked these up way before I knew much about costuming; much less this site. My advice to you honestly is to not order from SFP. I fell into their great looking website, and mistakenly placed an order with them of considerable size. It literally took a full year for the order to arrive. The quality of their products is hit and miss; with alot of misses unfortunately. I posted a few pics of the boots that I picked up from them. You can judge for yourself on their accuracy or not. I'm not an expert on any particular costume, but I love movie props. I hope that this helps you out, man. Let me know if you have anymore questions .

I'm in the same situation. Here are some currently available alternatives I've found that I think would look "OK" with boot armor and would definitely buy before buying SFP junk...and that's not even considering the whole SFP moral/recast debate.

Pro-Warrington 3003 Station Boots. They have what they call an "oblique", aka "square" toe similar to the KCs, but lug sole:
    http://www.thefirestore.com/store/pr..._station_boot/

Prada Pull-On Boots. Somewhat resembling sole but very pricey:
    http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/ca...752cat12890733

Harley Davidson Scar: Less resembling sole and moderately priced:
    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7540954/...FQk_agodIV_B-A

    Hope that helps some.

    hang on a minute
    - you are NOT endorsing SFP.
    - you know abt SFPs history of RECASTING and that he is a fugitive for US law

why do you even want to know anything abt this scum?
even if its the most perfect boot, with a reasonable price would it even matter?
at least the guys who have posted here have stated that they were unaware of his history - whats your excuse?
I am in the same boat - ie I need those boots. I dont even visit the website as I dont see the point.

oh - and heres and alternative to consider if the conversion rate doesnt cripple you

    good luck in your hunt.

You should be able to ask a question> The pictures of the boots was helpful for all to see and judge for those who do not know the back story.

    I am relaxed.
just surprised that someone who already knows abt SFP and his record would even be remotely interested in his boots.

for those who dont know his back story - http://www.geocities.com/universalar...er_wanted.html

just do a search here, do a search at any reputable prop collecting board. its there for all to see.

    http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showt...=star+fortress

    http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showt...=star+fortress

bubba you meniotned that any1 should be able to ask a question - I agree; and I have.
just wondering what a well informed member of this reputable board would even want to do research into SFP's product.

to those how have already bought stuff w/o prior knowledge - not blaming you. but to do it knowingly? thats a big no-no in my book.
but then again thats just my personal 2cents and peronal principles.

Heatshock, in my own observations of people here at TDH we seem to make an effort to be understanding and tactful when dealing with controversial subjects such as dealing with SFP. I know I also try not to be accusatory or jump in people's faces when they do ask a question about SFP.

I'd have to agree with TampaFett on this one...you don't seem "relaxed"

Once again Heatshock, I was only interested in seeing PICS of the actual boots...not purchasing them!

I do not know anything about Jango boots, however I was just on the Caboots website and I see they offer Jango boots now. They come in black, white, tan for Jango/artic troopr/galactic marine. You might check em out.

I don't know. I just pop in once in a while to see if they found another maker for their Boba boots and saw these. Just thought I would mention it. Like I said I am not very keen on the Jango details. Sounds like a fail?

ok guys - dont want this gettin out of hand - so this is my last post in this thread

I think you are mistaking passion for agitation. Again, not to state the obvious but I am relaxed.
but am I passionate abt speaking out about
    (1) someone who is an alleged paedophile?
    (2) someone who is a fugitive from US law?
    (3) recaster?

yes to all 3, and darn tooting.
as for jumping on someone who asks questions abt SFP - I agree. I dont do it on someone who genuininely doesnt know anything abt SFP. But you know abt SFP, I know abt SFP, Tampa says he also knows abt SFP.

Just surprised that anyone who knows of SFP would be interested in their products. But hey we are all adults here. Well not all, but you know what I mean ;P

As for the Caboots reproduction - as it stands at the moment, the protoype looks pretty inaccurate. The Galactic Marine and Kashyyyp trooper all use the same design. SO its a no no for all 3 cossies. Shame.

good luck in your hunt for the last few items for ur cossie Tampa

Nate I understand where u are coming from. I also feel the same way about SFP. I am sorry if u thought I was giving them a plug. I wasn't by any means. I only wanted to see a better pic of their boots - that is all. Thought somene here might have bought a pair unknowingly - and they did - and I saw the pics. After the pics were posted I never complimented SPF or told anyone to buy from them. Once the pics were posted I considered this posting done. Again we are all brothers on here sharing a common goal.

I've owned a couple of SFP items in the past and I still own a few pairs of clonetrooper boots purchased before becoming an informed buyer. I've also used their website for pictoral/build ref.

However, simple fact is in the end nobody has the right to tell anyone else how to spend their hard earned money. And unfortunately there have been some people who borderline cyber bullying when confronting someone who inquires or has purchased from SFP. This is what I don't like because there has to be a better way of treating people.

Personally, I'm not going to drop my friendship with someone who has bought from SFP. When I extend my friendship to someone it isn't based on "conditions". However, I will try to inform and dissuade anyone who is considering buying from SFP in a non-threatening/bullying manner of course...because in the end I don't have the right to force my opinion on anyone.
