    Speakers

Does anyone have a good setup for speakers for a Jango? I have read threads about people putting them in the jet pack but in my opinion that just makes your voice sound like it is coming out of your back. I have tried setting an amp up there on my TK and wasn't too happy with it. Is there a good way to get a good speaker system set up in the helmet so that the sound isn't blocked due to no real good openings for the sound to come from.

    Thanks.

I toyed with this a little. I tried the RS amp wraped in leather as an ammo pouch, but it doesn't sound good enough. I tried stormtrooper aerators mounted facing down, just inside the front of the helmet, but wasn't happy with that either.

I would like to try taking one of those Radio Shack personal amps/speakers and sticking the guts into an ammo pouch with holes punched into the side areas and underneath the flap. If there's not enough room, then maybe put the circuit board in one and the speaker in another, or making a slightly oversized ammo pouch that can be put at one of the ends.

Another idea would be to have pockets sewn on the inside of your vest behind the chest armor or on you flight suit, where you can put a speaker and/or circuit board.

Same idea that I've had dude...just haven't gotten around to it. I think it will work as long as you separate the circuit board and speaker.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I have thought about putting the speaker behind my vest but was afraid that either the sound would be too muffled or it woud cause the vest to bulk out too far. I will give it a try though. I like the pouch idea but my pouches at the moment are small and you can't really fit anything in them (the only downfall of SEEKER's pouches). Still good ideas and I will give them a try. Also, does anyone know where to get those aerator speakers for TK's? My brother is looking for them and having a hard time tracking them down. I thought at one point there was a person making a complete setup to put in F/X style helmets.

    Re: Speakers

I've tried small speakers in the helmet, large ones behind the armor and the sound is too muffled or just not loud enough in the case of the mini speakers. My current setup has a radio shack speaker over the center vent in the JP. It's worked the best so far for me.

I've looked like crazy for quality speakers small enough to put in the ammo pouches but came up empty. The problem is finding quality speakers at that size, cheap speakers are everywhere but I won't touch them.

What about gluing a transducer behind one of the chest plates? I recently had a singing birthday card that disected & the speaker/ transducer was taped to the cardboard. It sounded horrible when seperated, the cardboard acted as the speaker diaphragm. Maybe the chest plate can also be made to work like this?

I know its not cannon but what about putting a speaker in the left chest plate where the slots are and using a wire mesh, painting it silver? i thought the speakers under the helmet were a great idea. It was something i was going to try. But if you guys dont recommend it.

I've been thinking about putting a newton in the bottom of my arena pack and using the vent at the bottom for the sound to escape. Looks like it would fit, but would need to work out the running of the wires and getting easy access to change batteries.
