General Soju's Jango Debut

Active Hunter
Yaaaayyyyy!!!!! We are, for the most part, finished! We're finishing up the jet pack, and of course, there are several things we're going to continue to fine tune and upgrade over time, but Soju attended his first event in costume! There was even a TV news camera there, so we were REALLY glad his cod, or anything else, didn't fall off!! Although, he ended up doing that butt-slapping dance you find in the "special features" part of Bounty Hunter... I swear, if that's what makes it on the six o clock news, I'm gonna kill me a Fett!!

Spectacular work!!!You Both rock!
You completed almost everything so fast!
Is that Jango armor aluminum or sintra?
I like the way it "shines" (y)

 He's big, isn't he? I have no idea how tall he is, but he's definitely imposing...it doesn't help that apparently, he used to be special forces...this is just what I was told by others in the squad, so I don't know any details...the event was actually an informal squad wedding reception, and Boba is the groom, and the woman is his bride. They met at CII!! And Bojangle, the armor is sintra with rub n buff...it didn't seem to come together that quickly, really...we started in February, '02!

I had no idea you started early last year. The amount of time & work sure looks like it paid off nicely! It's amazing that Rub & buff makes that armor look so darn good! It really had me fooled for aluminum. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks all for the praise. I could nit-pick the thing to death, but for now I think I'm just going to kick back and reap the benefits of all our hard work. My wife and I (well, and the people here) are the only ones who ever notice any of the inaccuracies anyway.

If anyone has any questions on how we did anything, I'd be happy to share. However, I got most of the techniques from these boards, so I don't know how much help I can be. :)

Anyway, most of my thanks needs to go to my wife for keeping me going. There were several times I didn't think I was going to make it. In fact, I flat out threw in the towel. But, she pushed me to finish, and really helped out a ton in the final stretch. Believe me folks, if you ever feel like you're just not going to make it ... the first time you put on the finished product, you'll be glad you kept going. I was amazed by what we accomplished. Neither one of us are craftsman of any sort.

Well, again, thanks to all. And thanks to TDH. It hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows, but I couldn't have done it without this place.

Frosthsky, I can't get the media to play. What type of file is that?

It's a .mov file, I used quicktime to view it and had no problems.

Butt-slapping Jango, lol

Holy canoly! That Vader is HUGE! Nice suit Soju, looks awesome! BTW.. Which Garrison are you from, last I heard is that the California Garrison had a Vader about 8 ft. tall :p

The guy in the Boba suit is one of our Squad members, but you have a great eye. That IS one of Chaucer's earlier suits. It's a pre-production Boba too btw ... hence the yellow gaunt. He said he bought the whole suit about a year (maybe two) ago, minus jet pack.

I'm in the Cloud City Squad in Portland, OR. We are part of Garrison Titan, based in Seattle, WA. We have a giant vader at both locations. I don't know how tall our Portland one is (the one in the pic), but I'm 5'7" if that helps you guess.
