    Apr 5, 2013, 12:39 AM - Shane's Jango Build #1

    Hey Guys,

Starting out soon so I thought I would go ahead and start a thread. I have been doing some searching here on the forums and I have gathered tons of awesome info you guys have been posting and while mine isn't going to be extremely screen accurate I'm going to make it look great.

I will be using Sintra armor (For now) trying to keep it in my budget. I here he is a great member here!
Flight/Coveralls I have been seeing the Red Kap Postman blue is the way to go (On the cheap side) which is the route I will be taking until later.
This was the question I have though. Should I go with a short sleeve postman blue coverall? I was thinking it would look more accurate but I wouldn't know what to wear underneath it to match the color? Any help on this?

    Thanks everyone
    Shane

Sintra is actually a material used to scratch build armor. You should look into RAF or WOF's armor templates if you go that route.

Also, with Jango, Rub n Buff will become your best friend. You can find it in framing section at any crafts store

Thanks Wes, yeah I watched a video of someone using that and it came out fantastic! I planned on picking some up when I get the armor. Still trying to figure out my coverall/flightsuit problem..

A lot of people will buy two pair of coveralls and then cut one up to make the double sleeve, and you may need some for the collar.

Honestly, that's what I was thinking. I think that could work wonderfully til I get an accurate one.I plan on starting on the helmet soon. Btw I seen this on the "bay" does anyone recognize the maker? Let me know if you can still see it and yes I know its over. lol

bidding has ended so I can't see the listing........but no matter what it was I can almost guarantee that you would be better off contacting Asok or Cruzer for a helmet. The helmet is the face of the character, this is where most people will look first when you are out trooping. Don't cut corners here you will regret it in the long run. By the time you pay for the item and shipping and spend all of the time to work on a lesser cheapo helmet you could have just bought a good one.

I was just wondering if anyone here knew the maker initially.

Here are some pics of it:

On Rub and Buff, would Silver Leaf color be the best? This is my first time using this stuff and honestly didn't knew it came in colors.

As far as the helmet goes, I can't tell the maker by those pictures. The person who assembled it did not put the ear together right. And the range finder looks more like a Boba. In fact my guess would be that was a Boba helmet that had the dent filled and it was painted as Jango.

Thanks I was thinking thats what I had to get. Yea I noticed it was a different color as well. Overall I suppose its not a "bad" helmet but they're much better people on here who can do much better.

It's not the color the right ear is assembled in a Boba set up with a gap between the upper and lower parts. Jango has the upper part sitting on top of the lower.

Oh sorry should have clarified. I simply meant the top of the range finder looks black instead of the actual color blue. But yes I see what you're saying now. I'm looking at some comparison pics. You may be right about the boba thing.

Quick update. Armor is on the way so I decided to pick up some materials for weathering. So from what I gathered should do this:

    Primer armor
    Sand at 200
    Primer again
    Sand at 400
Then should I prime again before adding the silver leaf rub and buff I'm thinking no but would like to have your opinion

    Hey guys,

I was wondering about the chest slots. I know with Boba its basically a hole and has the display but Jangos looks as if its just indented. So I'm wondering when I cut the right measurements in there should I just place another piece of Sintra behind that part and glue it on there?

Jango's chest slots are not very deep. You could cut them and then back them with another piece to get the look. Or you could just dish out the area.

Cutting the holes and backing them would be by far the easier route.

Hey everyone, I just got my armor and was using my rub and buff after I sanded, primed, then sanded again ( I got it really soft before I applied it). I was using the Rub and buff and rub it all over then buffed really hard with my palm in circles in came out shiny but not as smooth. Meaning you can still see spots where I started off with the rub and buff. Kinda like blotches. Has anyone had this trouble?

I could see it would give it a weathered look but I haven't applied any paints yet.

That is where you probably got it too thick. If you keep on buffing it you should be able to get those to go away. Make sure that you really get it warmed up so that melts in your palm. Always apply a little at a time.

Maybe you should put the Rub'n Buff in your hand first and not on the armor...Just a guess, as I never used it before.

Hey I tried again today and got the same result. I applied very little and could not get that to go away. I must be missing something somewhere. If someone could just give me a rundown of how it should be applied that would be fantastic. I have already seen the youtube video as well.

Hi bro.............. to create a good ammo effect, you should put the Rub Buff first in your hand
