    Seeker's Finished Jango!! 8-8-04

I know you guys are probably sick of me, but here goes anyway

Just wanted to show some parts that I made and some that I've aquired.

First is new chest armor with new vest. The vest was done by a very nice lady around my house.

Next is the codpiece I built and had fibeglassed by yours trully Uncle Fettpride.

Next is the knees. While reworking on Judz Dwedd's early version of his knees I came to a conclusion that I could probably make my own. Again thanks to Uncle Fettpride for doing an awesome job on getting these babies fiberglassed. And thanks to Judz Dwedd for the inspiration!!

Next is the backplate. I try to get the correct curve on the back, but just couldn't do it that well with sintra. I guess I'll update that later.

    Thigh armor made with sintra.

Now you can't get any more accurate then this. Unless we get a scanned version of the real deal. Thanks again Fettpride.

    Shoe armor.

I'm also gonna redo my shins with accurate curves. here's the version i have now. as you could see i'm practicing on the curves.

Seeker you really live up to your name and inspire us all. I can honestly say it's after meeting you at Cel 2 that I decided to start my Jango and I've enjoyed every minute making, aquiring parts and wearing it. Your latest improvements are excellent.

I know this is a weird question, but does that chair have four four feet on a post and about 1.5x's wider than a normal chair? Just asking, because I have a chair similar to it and really enjoy it, but haven't ever seen one like it.

If you do have chair like mine, keep it for a long time. These chairs are the best things out ther for confort in front of a computer. I have four of these suckers. they are called the Eames Management chairs. They have been around for a long time. Very pricy. I have the vintage looking versions of them.

Check out how much they cost nowadays here.

Wow, coming along nicely! I"m still trying to figure out how to mount the servo motor to my JD helmet w/aluminum stalk so I can finish my helmet. I know my Jango will take a very long time. You gotta be single....right? So much time in the world. I haven't had that much time since...about '91.

Very nice work. Uncle George would be proud.

I still am very impressed!! Is there anyone's butt I can kiss to please have the same kind of gauntlets made for me, if it's not gonna cost me my next child? While we're at it, knee armor and cod piece too? I already have my armor from Jodo Kast but this would put the icing on the cake!

hey turo love the knees. i am attemtpting to turn mine into glass. had a pretty good testing of the stuff backing against some styrene and sintra. hopefully i can back my knees and give them some support. either that or i may make a mold of mine and try to get them glasses.

Oh, I don't think those are like mine. Nice chairs. Mine's got no wheels, but looks like it might have, and therefore sits about 2 inches too low, and needless to say, doesn't roll.

It is black leather, and same design, similar arms, but mine's about 30 inches wide or so. The arms are just a bit out further than they should be, but it's cool.

I picked it up at a friends garage sale for $20. It now sits on my front porch and is occasionally my cigar chair.

Thanks for showing them to me.

    Oh, nice armor too.

Thunderbolt - Yep it was one of first attempts in leather making. Pretty easy stuff if you have the tools :p

Thanks Trooperkev - The pattern I used was one that I made. I dont have one handy, but as soon as you get the Jango CD it will be really easy to make. There's a couple of shot where you could almost trace it. And Regarding the codplate, there are all spoken for. Sorry.

I'll get your vest pics up asap.

And for the rest of you here's some R&B udpates.

Color is real nice there Turo, is it a custom blend??? One thing I would say if your seamstress can do- let out the legs just a little bit, they look a little too fitted. I did that the first time I sewed mine, I took them in a bit so let out the seam a bit and it made a big difference. I also think you may want to look for darker gloves now with the new jumpsuit.

In certain published pictures, his jumsuit is definitely purple and Seeker has it dead on to match those pics with just the right bit of faded look to it.

Thanks for the great feedback guys.

Mirax - it was already nice purple already, but I have dyed it to much the publicity photos like you said I'm still dying the jumsuit with a little bit of blue tint to it. Then after that i'm gonna fade it as much as i can. For weatheing I'm gonna airbrush some Geonosis Arena dust to it.

It appears tight right? The reason it looks that way now is beacause i have the straps of both the knees and shins on top of the jumpsuit. Once i make the holes for the straps, hopefully it will look better. Or unless you meant the codpiece area?

    Thanks again

wow, great work! while im painting my helmet im wondering, how can i get a goo dclean line in the silver and dark blue areas on the cheeks? i tried masking but its not to good, so i think ill try just using a brush. i put a hair dryer to it and the rub n buff seams dry to me, it will not smear anymore.

Shins look great. As well as the gauntlets. Can't see much of a difference between yours and the real thing.

    Holy Sheep fit !

    Turo .. you're insane .. certifiable.

I can honestly say, that by the time you're done with this version, ppl would be hard pressed to find ANY difference between your suit and the CII display ...

I can't see what you could possibly upgrade after this round. Repairs here and there from your "Con Hopping" maybe, but not upgrades ....

You ARE jango man .. inside and out ...

    Just right. Perfect Jango color.

You just need to add the saber scorches around the collar.

Hmm, I think I really like it Turo. If you are going for the publicity look, then I think it works well. Why not post some comparison pics for us next to the look you are going for.

Ok - I give in. It's no biggie but I'm now part of the DENTED HELMET!! Woo Hoo. That's pretty bold on my part but i did it.

Since I like it rough, I'm turning my Jango towards the dusty, grainy, dirty Arena Battle Jango.

thanks guys. Here's a pic of the color that I've been striving for. I think I'm very happy with what I have now. Just wash it a few more times, then I'll do the dust weathering.

Hmmmm.....I love the idea of the "dent", I've thought of doing that before too. But could you post some comparison shots between your dent and the screen used one?
Again, the jumpsuit color is perfect and I gotta get me some of those shins!
Now when are you going to bust out the crouching Jango pose??

That looks much better. That looks really close to what you're striving for. It must've been that picture or the lighting that made it look off.

****, Seeker! When I first started my Jango costume, I wanted to make it as movie-accurate as possible. Now, I aspire to make it as Seeker-accurate as possible!
And I'm even thinking of getting a tatoo. You're a bad influence, man (in a good way).

    Keep up the great work!

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Foxbatkllr - Thanks for the approval on the color. you had me worried there. :p

Mirax - I know that the color for some reason comes off a little everytime you washed it. I guess there's some left over dye that didnt really settled in. I notice when i place it on the tub, some of the dye comes off. I love it. that means if i could go darker I dont have to worry to much. I just wash it.

Baddblood - How did i do what? do you mean how I dyed it?

    Rammage - my pleasure.

While I personally would still go with something a little more blue, I think you got it pretty dead on to the real thing, at least according to that picture. I like more blue than is probably accurate, but I guess I'm just one of those guys who doesn't want to be caught wearing a purple jumpsuit :p

I was going to put that on my helmet but I didn't have enough reference nor did I have the guts to cut a hole and fill it with bondo. S how did you do yours?

I was just wondering what the common consensus was on when Jango received the dent in his bucket? Was it during the skirmish with OB1?
