i know that in my experience for belt material you should use at least 4oz for the backing...maybe even a bit heavier...as far as the bolo to the backing...leatherweld glue is a favorite of mine for combining leather parts...the stuff sticks unreal...a bead under the bolo and then working down under the next one and the side of the previous one should keep it all solid
2/3 oz for the backing.
4/5 oz for the back cover.
Tandy Leather Weld smeared all over the rough side of the backing before laying down the ropes (preferably over a curved object).
:thumbsup
backing=what you use to back the braided bolo
back cover=what covers the lace in the back.
Tandy sells their leather hides in 2/3 oz weight, 4/5 oz weight, and so on.
