Hey this is my first post...looking t make my first set of armor...stuck between jango and boba armor types...any suggestions about which would be best?

I'm leaning towards jango just because there is less wear and tear on the armor and I don't think I'm ready for that level of detail..

I'm looking for advice in the best way to go about this..
I was thinking pepakura for the helmet (I've had a little experience with this before)
But when it comes to gauntlets, I was wondering if the boba ones on the pepakura wiki would work for a jango build..
Also when working with the armor templates (thank you) what is the best material to work with for a first timer?

Any suggestions would be great...I've been looking around the forum for a couple days and I've had a little success finding stuff but could use help with the gauntlets specifically

Thanks :)

i guess the first question would be what kind of budget are you working with? building your own helmet can be very rewarding, but by the end of it, the time and money invested is fairly comparable to buying a kit from one of the makers here. i'd recommend a helmet kit from asok. his helmets have lineage to the screen used helmet, so it's accurate in size and shape, and it's very reasonably priced.

armor is a little different. you can make your own very nice looking armor using the templates and cutting up some sterilite trash cans. a few of those will take care of your chest, neck, shoulder, back, thigh and shin armor. the knees and cod are a bit trickier, you may want to see if you can find those vacuformed.

finally, gauntlets. i really don't know about making gaunts, i've never attempted them, and i don't know if there are templates available for jango. but i do know that boba gauntlets painted silver won't pass for jango. you may want to consider saving up to buy a kit from cruzer, because they are the best available.

Thanks for the advice, I'm not sure about my budget right now...but I could probably be able to do the trash can armor...on building a helmet, what would the best method be to do that? Thanks again for the help:)

EDIT: which of the two fetts would be cheapest to make in the end? Like I said I was thinking jango would be easier just because of the lack of major weathering...but boba has less armor pieces.... any advice on wear to get the pieces for bobas armor?

Thank you

The two Bobas are probably about the same to put together. ESB has another weapon and holster, ROTJ has more colors, I think it's all close to evening out at the end. RedKraytDragon is making reasonably priced armor pieces, Bobamaker, Fettpride, and Wickedbeard offer armor too. As with a Jango, you can make the armor from trash cans or sintra as well. Look in the Boba Fett Costume section of the forum for people's showoff pictures of their finished suits. They often list the sources for their components so you can get an idea of who makes what.

I would just simply tell you to do your research . Pick one or the other character. And be sure that is the one you really want to do. Then read every thread on the build of that character. Decide who on the boards make the parts you want at the price you can afford. If you can make that part your self then more power to you and that will save you money . You will also be able to say with great self satisfaction that you made it your self.

Hope this helps and take your time. And when you get approved look me up in the Garrison that you will most likely be in if your from Syracuse NY . The Garrison is Garrison Excelsior ( the upstate New York area) I'm Sandman on the forums

Good luck and if you need help send me a PM
