General Protecting Cold Cast? How to?

So what do you Jango guys use to protect those lovely cold cast parts from fingerprints and what not? Do you guys use a clear coat of some kind, or even a polish like Mothers alu Polish? Would a clear coat dull the finish?

Polish is fine......I would never clear coat it personally. The natural scratches and such add to the authenticity to be honest.

I have nothing on my BKBT yet. It doesn't act really prone to finger prints. I've polished it and painted it, and cleaned off the masking tape residue. I've handled it quite a bit but doesn't really show fingerprints.

I also never clean or polish my armor or helmet and in pics it always looks shiny. And I have heavy weathering on my kit.

ah ok, cool. Cause when I did a search and it seems like sometimes people recommended a clear coat (mostly boba threads) and others Mothers polish; but again, most were older threads from 06-08

I use the Mother's polish when I get done with paint and before I add weathering. Just to get it nice and shiny, then I add the weathering. Even with the weathering it still shine like crazy in pictures. I had several pics from DCC this weekend and I was surprised at how shiny it is after about 3 years of trooping.

here is a pic from Sunday......if it loads....As you can see the dome is having no problem with shine.
