    Aug 17, 2010, 8:26 PM - Pre made JF costume? #1

Hey all, as you can see I'm quite the newbie around here. I did a quick search but I'm not known for finding stuff all that easily.

So excuse me if it's already been posted a million times, and I'm sure it has, so I'll wait for the flames... But does anyone on this forum offer a complete or near complete Jango Fett costume?

I found one place online, but through Google I found some rather mixed reviews. But I've got some extra tax money I'm wanting to spend so I got a costume this Halloween and something I can display and "play" with. I've been looking at the starfortressproductions.com "Geonosis Deluxe Mechanical" costume. It's a bit pricey, but looks like what I'm looking for.

I guess what I'm asking is this: Is Starfortressproductions a "safe" place to hand over nearly 3k of my hard earned cash? Is there another site that sells "complete" costumes? Does anyone on this forum offer complete costumes? Also, final question, does anyone know what they mean by "mechanical" in the Genosis Deluxe Mechanical costume?

    Thanks for reading!

NOOOOOO! Don't do it. Plenty of talented prop makers here. The suit will look more accurate and fit you better. I would expect however, to spend about the same amount of money to do it right. I'll send you a pm

Sounds good Jango, thanks for the help. I'll make sure to check my PM's tomorrow as I'm heading off line.

    Thanks again!

I;m sure some others will chime in but I'll give you my two cents first if you like

I'd avoid that website! I'll be honest and say it's the first time I've seen that site but looking at all the jango stuff they have for sale, I wouldnt buy any of it.

If you have three grand to throw around you can do most of that pretty quickly right here at this website on highly accurate, high quality goods.

    Asok for the Helmet

Cruzer for the armour and gauntlets

    Darkside for your knees ect

belts, holsters vests and flight suits, It's all here my friend! Spend plenty of time reading up on what goes down here, after a while you'll piece it all together and just start ordering.

Jango needs patience, all Mandalorians require patience and detail. there are always people ready to make a quick buck selling **** on website that are easy to find. Even I made the mistake of purchasing a recasted stormtrooper costume when I first got into this hobby, I've always regretted that.

Look in the Cargo hold and if you are willing to part with 3K then go ahead and buy Cruzers open season/Jaster Mereel suit that he has for sale and then you would have most of an awesome suit at a great price. Then you could repaint or change out a few parts and have an awesome Jango and still be under what you would spend for a ****** suit from SFP.

You won't be disappointed buying here on the Dent. Basically, there are a very choice few costuming websites that are worth anything and most of the good ones are community oriented rather than focused on selling anything. As everyone said: invest the time, find out good sellers, piece it together and build it over time. With 3K you'll have no problem putting this thing together. Best of luck!

If you want to throw away your 3k, just give it to me, at least I'll do something with it other than send you a horrible suit and kick you in the nuts. Actually if you buy from them after all the reviews on this site, I'll personally find you and kick you in the nuts! j/k! But seriously I know how it is because I made that very mistake with my Boba. I bought the entire suit, and now over $2000 later I'm finally almost done replacing all of their products with parts I've found from here and Bobamaker. Listen to the people here, you may not be able to one stop shop, but you'll be MUCH happier with the result. If you still want evidence of Starfortress'es suckiness, let me know, I'll PM you some photos of the Boba they sent me.

Everyone has chimed in and what they all have said is absolutely true... I have invested probably $1500-$1800 on my Jango and it is 100% better than SFP's ****!

I agree with Mullreel, if you want to get into this hobby and shell out 3K, check out Cruzer's OS Jango/Jaster, he is TOP NOTCH and all you would need would be a girth belt and repainting and you got an AWESOME Jango, with money left over to spare!!

Not really TLobe00, it's a dark cold cast, if he wanted to do a Jango he would need to Rub & Buff all the pieces, plus new pouches and braided bolo belt, but at that price, why not?

I've looked at his Jaster piece, but I don't have "access" to really use that section yet. It looks top notch, but I'm gonna hold out a bit more and do some more research. I've gotten quite a few good leads from a members PM, so am gonna check those out as well.

Thanks guys for the help and input. It's appreciated!

Can't go wrong with Cruzer's suit. Even if you can't wear the jumpsuit, the rest of the stuff is great, and you'll need all of it.
