pinstriping?

Roddie

New Hunter
What or how did every one pinstripe there jango helmet. I was thinking about useing black auto pinstriping. Painting it seems to be a real big hastle.

Thats the way its done go for the 3 ml or 1'8 inch its well worth the hassel to make your lid look the part. it beats using a sharpy

yep...auto parts store. You can get enough in one package to do about 100 helmets, so if you mess up and have to redo its no big deal.

I used the 1/8th but I have also heard of guys using the 1/16th (I think) to make them just a bit thinner.

I used 1/16th inch pin striping....if you go to autozone they have the double stripped pinstriping with one line being slightly thinner....I cut the thinner line off and just used that...I still have a whole role if you need some, roddie...I can cut some and mail it to you...just PM your address.

I was thinking the 1/16th to Ry,but my wife works at an auto body shop...soooo I got her to gank me a few differant sizes.

Cool...go with the thinner stuff I think the actual size was 3/32 or something like that...not sure where I read that but it sticks in my head. I had the 1/8th on and changed it to 1/16th and it made a huge difference.

I like the way the 3/32 looks,I put the 1/16 on & to me it dosent look much differant than the 3/32.
Thanks again Cruz......stand up job on the parts.

Aside from the actual width, just be cautious when applying. I've had the pinstripping actually narrow even thinnner sometimes when I accidentally put too much tension when applying it. Other than that, Just be aware of the space between the rim going around the helmet (along the visor and around the back) and the spacing between the top most pinstripe.

That's why I recommended 1/8" over 1/16". The 1/16" is already too skinny as is, and when you stretch it, it will get even skinnier.

I would go with the 1/8. I just put these pics together to illustrate the sizes. I used Zoltan Tyrell's helmet which Cruzer states that he's pinstripe is 3/32 and a picture of the real deal.

I didn't get a chance to stretch my pinstripe like Fox suggested, so it looks a bit thicker on my helmet. But here's a comparision with my helmet.
