New CC Jango knee armor

Ciao belli!
Here my last update on my costume.
i rebult my old (made by me!) vacum formed knees armor to use like master

Silicone mold and first pull in cold cast

IMHO the result is very nice.
So i also made the mastrers for the side parts and the molds too
this is the first pull (in CC)

and here 2 video (in Italian...),one while i open the mold and 1 of the first pull ( also with a little fight with my girl...

)

i'm the weathering guy here... when Darkside showed me the alu finish i felt my jaws falling away!

About the weathering, i know it's not a great job, but i had very limited resources and time!

Those most certainly are gorgeous knees, no doubts there.

Still, I'd feel much less paranoid of damaging/breaking them by kneeling if they were Hyperfirm style rubber knees.

Cruzer,don't worry,my head is ok and my helmet will fit on it perfectly!

About make them in Hyperfirm i want say this:
My philosophy for my

costume is to try to have all the pieces "movie accurate".That means,try to reproduce the same shape with the same materials.
So in the real jango costume the knee are in fiberglass (meaby also CC) but not in rubber\Hyperfirm.
Other point... this my first CC pull in my life, and speaking with Cruzer, I understad tha i was really lucky to find the right "formula" for a really nice CC looking with out make 10 test pull and buy special kind of resins.
You never could have the same result with Hyperfirm.
I made a stupid joke with some my friends telling them that my knees was made in real aluminum and everyone belived that!
If i use the polish for the silver on them, you can use them like a mirrow!

About the damaging/breaking, i can say that my first knee was in "ugly plastic" vacumformed (no ABS or STIRENE) and i never broken them while i was trooping.(i only broke a side piece in the bag when i was going on the C4 in LA...) Those are in fiberglass, and for a normal use ( walk,make pics with people and kids or display) they are enought strong

Sure that if you want go on Kamino and make a match fight with obi wan, you should broken them!

"RUN" mmmm in this moment i really don't have a lot time to make a big run...this weekend i'll try to make another kit just to understand better the time to make them and how much material i must use...after i will estimate price and how many copies i'll can do.

Dark-side, I'm sure that your CC resin knees are plenty strong... I'm just a paranoid sort. I'm always terrified that after all of the hard work I put into scratch building my own knee armor ( and glueing my fingers together more than once ), that I'll kneel down once for a photo with a little fan and have my knee explode.

For me, having rubber knees would be more for my piece of mind than any thing else. With that said, I still think that your CC knees are absolutely georgeous and if I had the opportunity to purchase a set from you, I'd jump at the chance.

GO! And get them if you can! They're the best knees that I have ever seen! Cold Cast (as the real) and the kit comes with aluminium darths and trimmed! They're just 195$ for all!

Sure, but I remind you that only my new darts will fit on my CC knees.

I made this upgrade to make them like the real one.

FettFanatic did you buy in the past the knee darts from me? If yes i can tell how you could modify them...but if you don't have the right tools will be almost impossible

I want give you some more info on my knee...
I did not use any tamplete from some one else.Design,dimensions,masters,molds, it's all my work!

The kit will include all of the pieces trimmed, the darts (new version), and will be ready to assemble.
The knees are very easy to build and you can build them to your knee size.
I used CA glue and a small piece of styrene, 5 min. of work and done!
The perfect size is a knee 12 cm wide.

For guys with big knees, these knees are narrow...so before buying them, check the width of your knee!!!

That small attention to detail you captured in the top knee darts is exquisite!!! :thumbup

I'm also thinking I'll assemble/reinforce mine with some 1/16" x 1" aluminum stock and some Devon Platic Weld that runs along the entire top. I did it this way to reinforce some JD Jango knees and repair some FP Boba knees and it worked like a charm!

I estimate shipping from my home would be about $5-$10 for people in the U.S.

UPDATE
This weekend i worked on the kit.
All the kit are trimmed and i opened all the holes for the darts.
I also buffed the 40% of them...i stoped the work when i didn't feel anymore the right arm!
