Need something just to wear to Movie Theater to see Rouge One

If you want to actually look decent but not spend too much money then I would recommend doing a kit that is all fabric. You might could a Jedi, or possibly a low end Imperial Officer.

I will be frank. The helmets you are talking about is very low end and won't look good. The link you put up is basically a pair of pajamas. If you are dead set on doing a Jango Fett I would get a quality helmet, which will run you a minimum of $200, and then do a fun, whimsical thing like wearing a suit with it. Kind of a Jango out for a night on the town.

I hate to be so blunt but there is no way to get a good looking costume at that price.

I also encourage you to spend some time here looking through threads and learning about the suits. You will find an appreciation for the work involved and the time and money required. Most people here spend months or even years to get to where they are.

I have seen them in person. It looks like something your 4 year old would wear. I wouldn't trust the reviewers btw. I would trust the advice you receive on this site, this site possess the most knowledge and expertise on Boba Fett and Jango Fett that exists.

If you want to wear this by all means don't let anyone here on the forums ruin it for you. But I would imagine if you spend some time here on the forums you will see what I am talking about.

You can learn to work with some 6mm Sintra and make some decent looking armor but there will be time and money involved no matter how you slice it.

If you want it JUST to wear to the movie theater and that's it then by all means scoop up a standard Halloween costume from eBay or Amazon. I'm not trying to sound rude but this forum is more for folks that are dedicated to achieving something great than just a store bought $50 dollar costume, whether it be something hand made or crafted by the excellent artisans and vendors here.

You say you want to look "good", which is an extremely subjective term, what is "good" to you?

FWIW, I'd rather enjoy the movie than sit in an uncomfortable costume that few will see in the dark theater. My 501st garrison's screenings are strictly "no costume" events precisely for this reason. Here's my "hommage" outfit, with the added benefit that it won't bust your budget.

Well Like I said I have a limit of like 150-200 and I just want something better than the rubies one but it doesn't need to be high quality like 2000-6000 like you guys do I am a normal guy who can't invest that much into a suit

Hi

Gotta agree with the guys here .. most folks are in this for the long run, the detail and the skill learning ..

That said i feel the pain but in seriousness and i don't know where you reside but you might want consider doing a costume hire from a higher end costumier or fancy dress hire place. Here in the UK there are at least a couple of places in most towns that will offer costume hire thats way better than what you'll scalp off the Bay etc ..the top hires are normally Vader, Fett Stormtroopers and Jedi's .. the level of detail is good and the costumes will at least pass a bit of scrutiny .....

i'd maybe spend your cash more wisely and maybe consider doing that so that for that 'one night only' you look halfway as good as you want to ...

as an example in the UK ..

Millennium Movie Costume Hire - Boba Fett Costume Hire

That way you may even get some change out of your 200 hard earned bucks ... just a thought

With time and patience, you could at least fabricate the armor itself using sintra plastic (technical name for it is "foamed PVC" ) I prefer 1/8" thick. I've been able to get a 4'x8' sheet for around $35 in the past. Rub and buff silver leaf at micheals (or online) is only a couple bucks. You could then probably modify some coveralls to make the flight suit. Gauntlets? Well, that'll be more time consuming and require more patience but could be made from Sinatra too...well actually all of the other parts technically could be.

Search for "wizardofflight," he's a member here who created various templates for the armor you can use to piece together in varying scales/sizes.

If you want a cheap helmet that doesn't look terrible (shape wise) I'd suggest trying to pick up one of those boba fett helmets that were sold recently (after TFA came out) at Target stores. They're not perfect, but the general shape of it was pretty decent, especially compared to the more expensive, craptacular rubies. IIRC it was about $30 for that. You can use that tube of rub and buff for the silver and the other blue paints aren't that much more expensive either.

As for the flak vest and other leathers, you may need to be more creative with that. I'd encourage you to find someone you know who may be skilled with sewing and see what kind of pleathers/alternatives can work for you

we are all just normal guys here too btw. I am a poor guy who worked hard and learned new skills to get to where I wanted to be with my kit.

I would just recommend you do what you want to do. You don't need to justify it to us and if you have fun loving Star Wars then we all win.

I appreciate that but say I was going to build a suit and it was going to be out of EVA pvc foam the things I am stuck on is the gantlets and Flight suit/Coveralls I can't find any?

For the gauntlets I have seen them made from poster board (not the foam filled stuff) and then coated with resin and painted or Rub N Buff. They weren't screen accurate but they will get you by on a budget. your best bet for a pattern for this would be to check the RPF for pepakura files of the gauntlets. The resin can be purchased at a hardware or automotive store. Coveralls Red Kap postal blue (do a google search).
