Need help finding helmet paint colors...

Hey guys, I am currently in the middle of painting a Jango helmet but can not locate these colors:

"Krylon short cuts Ocean Blue"

"Rustoleum Royal Blue"

Are these colors discontinued? Is there substitute colors? I've checked booth walmart and Lowes and not been able to find them.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I ordered my Ocean Blue from Ace Hardware on the internet. But recently I have seen it at my local Hobby Lobby. You won't find the short cuts at most places. Now the Rustoleum Royal Blue I can ususally find pretty much everywhere. My only complaint about it is the stupid nozzel keeps clogging up.

If you have a Hobby Lobby or a Micheals near you I would check there.

ace hardware always has little cans of ocean blue. and they have the best customer service and most knowledgeable staff of any store. i swear, it's all about the old guys that have been working there since they got back from WWII.

I used the rusto royal blue from walmart or home depot both sell it...and brilliant blue also from Home Depot as the short cuts reacted badly with the rusto paint

Thanks for the replies guys :)

I checked both Kmart and Ace Hardware today and came up with nothing :(

Will check Hobby Lobby and Joann's after the thanksgiving insanity.

i've never had any problems with the two paints. maybe because it's so dry in montana.

rustoleum sail blue is pretty darn close to the ocean blue, i used it once, but that was before i found ocean blue at ace.

The first time I used the krylon rustoleum combo I had no problems, but it was spring with low humidity and decent temps. In the summer I painted another helmet still using the same cans and got all kinds of reactions. The summer temps were high 90s with 85% humidity.

So I agree that the weather may play a big part with the paint interactions.

does it make any difference if you paint in humidity and then allow it to dry in an air conditioned room, or even a room with a dehumidifier?

just some food for thought

Oh I must have misread what you guys meant, I thought the curing time was taking too long but I see now you're reffering to reactions in the paint.

What type of reactions are occurring just out of curiosity?
