My Jango WIP.....NOW FINISHED

Looks nice. I would suggest to trim the bottom of your backplate aswell. like around the yellow line or lower. almost vertical to the edge of your jetpack.

Seeker, that is a detail I had not noticed before, but I see what you mean immediatly. It would be about even with the ab plate and contiue around to just under the jetpack.

I am still not completely happy with the height of the Jetpack I think I want it a bit higher. I may have to move the clips on the jetpack a little lower to achieve this. The more I look at pics the more I want to work on the color of the flightsuit too. It is ok for a start but I want it faded out quite a bit from where it is now. Any suggestions on fading a flightsuit?

Thanks for the input that is exactly the kinda info I am looking for, I wouldn't have noticed the backplate probably.

Congrats! The So. CA Chapter of the 501st is coming to speak to my Rotary Club this coming Thursday, and one of the characters is a Jango!! Totally stoked to see someone's approved build in-person.

Again, congratulations on the competion AND the BH#!!!

I took some bleach to my flightsuit. I mixed up a light bleach mixture and sprayed the flightsuit and then washed in hot water, then repeated. The color looks much better to me. It has more of the Geonosis purple hue to it now.

I may try to cut my backplate down tonight too. It pains me to think about cutting that Cruzer backplate, but I want it to be the best it can be.

I wasn't very scientific about it, but it was probably about a 1-10 bleach to water ratio. I poured some into the spray bottle till it looked about right and then filled up the rest with water. I tested it on the back that would be hidden from view first. I sprayed it then let it set probably 5 minutes. Then I washed it in hot with heavy detergent. That seemed to work so I sprayed the rest of it and repeated the process.

I will see if I can find a camera and snap a pic.

And I cut off about a half inch off the bottom of my back plate. Seeker recommended a little more but I figure it is easier to cut more off than to add it back. I think I will troop once with it at this length, get some pictures and re-evalute.

I need to cut my back plate after seeing those pics. I never noticed how low the back plates sit.

Your jango looks great!

Did my first troop today. It was a GI Joe action figure convention in Arlington. Had a blast.

I was there as 501st and Mandalorian Mercs.

Learned a few things that I will be tweaking and improving, but overall I was happy with how things worked.

I'm very curious as to what you learned and what you will be tweaking? Do tell!

well I typed out a nice response and then lost it somehow.......

One thing I need to adjust is the collar and or balaclava. I continually had the back of my neck showing through. The next is to move the straps on my shin armor higher, so that they sit about and inch up. I think I can make this happen with just adjusting the placement of the strap on my calf. And lastly I need to make sure that the jetpack doesn't fall lower and lower as the day wears on. This was bout a 5 hour troop and the JP moved down about 2 inches throughout the day.

The shins shouldnt be a difficult fix. I know what you mean about the jetpack, the same thing would happen to me the first time I wore my Boba. Is it the webbing in the harness that is causing the issues?
