My Jango Build (questions)

Hey guys!

So I'm brand new to this portion of the Star Wars costuming universe... I have a 501st Vader, and that was my first ever "real cosplay". But, now Im wanting something a little different. I've decided that I'd probably like to do a Jango Fett. I've always wanted a Prequel era costume, and he really has the coolest look.
Well, here's what I'm struggling with... I'm 6 feet tall. I know that this is the "technical" and "canon" height of Jango... but will it look weird in costume since Morrison is 5'8ish? I don't want to look like a giant dressed as Jango... just something I'm trying to figure out.

As for pieces, I know that I'm going to get everything that Cruzer offers. Hopefully, within this week, I'm going to send him a PM and see if I can buy a helmet kit from him. As for the rest... I'm not sure yet, I'm still researching what's best.

So what do you guys think? I want to look accurate in the costume, so if I will look disproportionate at 6 feet tall, I wont do it!

edit: not sure if this helps me at all.... But after watching AOTC again, it looks like Morrison is wearing lifts in some scenes to make him taller. In scenes with Windu, he's looking Jackson straight in the eye (although Jackson is still taller by an inch) when in real life Jackson is much taller, being 6'2..... Is Jango supposed to be perceived as taller than Morrison actually is?

It is always tough to say how tall characters are "supposed" to be. Think of all the Tom Cruise movies. He never seems like he is 5'8 or so, they always make him look about 6'. Also look at Bane in the Dark Knight. Tom Hardy is like 4 inches shorter than Christian Bale.

With that said when you do try to do screen accurate then actual size of the actor comes into play. I am 5'10 and I wear all Cruzer armor. It fits me great I think. At 6 foot you should still be in the outside range of Cruzer armor looking good. The key will be your body shape. If you are 6 feet with a thick muscular build then things may start to look small, if you are a thin to average build then it will probably work.

Height alone is tough to determine how the armor will fit.

When you look at jet packs I would again gauge which one fits you best.

I have seen many 6' tall Jangos that look great, it is all about getting the right fit. So just go for it and see how it turns out. Jango Fett is a ton of fun to troop.

Well, I'm about average. Not big or small necessarily. My dad and I share shirts, and he's 5'8, except some times I even wear a smaller shirt.... I have like a 38-40 inch chest or so and a 36 inch natural waist, but I wear a 33 inch waist pants.... I think I should be okay as long as I space it correctly. I've seen a few Jangos who were taller than I am space their armor a little too close in the chest (closer than what I think is accurate) and it just doesn't look right.

with those measurements you should be just fine.......you might even look a bit thin (Jango was stockier than Boba), but still very much doable.

I am 5'10 with an athletic build, I have about a 43-44 inch chest and a 32 waist. You can look at my WIP thread and see how the Cruzer armor looks with those measurements and then make reasonable inferences on how it will apply to you.

Yeah if I look too thin, I might pad myself a bit! I'm about 185 pounds.
Just measured my chest too.... I'm 42 inches there... But all my jackets I wear are 40 inch... But then again, I just hired a personal trainer back in January, so maybe the bulk is coming from there!

Okay guys.... So I just ordered a Cruzer helmet on Saturday! Should be here sometime in July! Plan on saving up for the armor next....

Also, just got myself measured. I'm actually just barley touching 5'11, maybe 5'10 7/8. Not a bad size for Jango, I don't think.... I know Morrison was aprox. 3 inches shorter or so, but from the movies, I'm pretty sure he was made to looks taller.
