My Bobamaker Jango Fett helmet paint up by Bobby Fett UK

Hi all,

I got myself a Jango Fett cold casted helmet a few weeks ago off Bobamker.



I have passed it onto Bobby Fett UK which he has kindly accepted a long with many of his other jobs he is soo busy with.

why didn't you ask daz to paint it for you?

Just wondering is the colour of the mesh at the back of the helmet silver or black?

I used silver, but I've seen other's with black. I think it's really a personal preference, but from reference I've seen, it's been silver mesh

Silver it is then Phil.

Will get some photos up when I get rolling onthis, one or two bits to finish first.

I should say this helmet is sweet, I may get one myself.......if this looks any good lol!

Yes! I've too considered getting one myself. I can't get over the fact that its a screencast. I've fallen in love with the helmet, so to have one of these (FP or BM) it's a great collector's piece

any pics or updates on this lid? I am looking at one of the cold cast ones myself but do not think I should start out with an expensive one to mess up!!!

I suggest going with a Asok CC... they are very affordable and screen cast (much like the BM CC) and if you mess it up you are not out the money for an expensive lid.

Yeah that's why I'm also having Daz do the painting on mine. Hope to have it by end of Oct. or early Nov. His items are by far the best & worth the extra money.

I haven't heard much of a update on this

I have got round to making a start on this for Phil.

Now, I want to gauge opinions on the colours, they look different in almost all the photos I look at due to lighting etc, so I figure you Jango experts can point me in the right direction.

Here is a test shot of the colours (over a spare Boba lid)





Now I know it is rough, but we are only looking at the way the two blues work together.

All comments welcome.

Are the cheeks and sides different shade of blue?

I assume the two blue tones are different. The front looks ok, maybe the cheeks bit more.

Anyone with advice on this?

Yes Phil, if you look at the over spray on the ear section you can see the two colours side by side.

It looks close, but no cigar yet. I think the cheeks need to be the same blue as the mandibles but a few shades darker.

Any comments for Phil on this Jangos?

Colours look pretty good! but I'm no Jango expert and I'm sure some other Jango seniors can chime in to help.

I think the contrast is a little too much and the light blue is a little too light.

Yea, I think that the light blue should be darker, and that the inner cheeks should be slightly darker...what paints are you using?

This is interesting.

I have given the whole painted area a shot of pale blue, which was darken down with a touch of the mixed darker blue, and I am pretty happy with the shade now.



For the darker blue I have a nice colour mixed, the samples in the photos do not show it very well. However I intend to have a look at some Royal Blues, I understand Seeker uses Rustoleum Royal Blue? Can't see the greener tint in a royal blue? Any and all comments welcome, I need Phil to be 100% sure on the colour here.

Will try the hint of green, I am seeing that from some of the exibition photos.

the helmet is the real one. It was an exibition in Milano.
For the paint, it's a RAL paint charts


On my helmet i made a mix with Ral 5000 and Ral 5001.

Thanks Dark Side and Firstsonofsolo, that gave me the break through I was needing. I put the Ral's (which I understand well) and the green tint together and think I got it.

The photos are not showing the colour, but this is how the shade of light blue has changed. Darker being the new shade, based on an ocean type colour (blue green not sky blue)


And on the mandibles



I took one of the darker shade against the new lighter blue too, but the lighting has distorted the colours, the light blue is the same as the photo above? Will get a better on tomorrow. The Darker blue is now more of a green/blue and they are working very well to me when seen by eyes.

Man, I have so much to learn. This is all very interesting.

i thought of getting a helmet from boba maker so i could custom it for fun but instead i bought a simple 60$ colectors helmet to mess around with but anyways you guys seem to know better than me when it comes to painting so keep up the good work.

Well, I been busy for over the past month in the week. I can't get online in the week, only at weekends. Your weren't joking about get this done, this week. Looks stunning.

What with the tint of green, don't get that.

What going on the at the cirlce parts here. Just curious, I assume it down to where the visor sitting.
