Moving rangefinder??????WHAT???

Well ok so I thought that we "KNEW" from seeing the screencast helmet that the rangefinder was not functional meaning it does not go up and down. Is this correct because I have seen a picture that proves the movie helmet RF does move. Jangos battle with Obiwan on Kamino one of the shots has it halfway down when he is falling........?????

I see the range finder move twice in the battle between Obi and Jango. It actually moves BACK when he is leaning over the pillar and firing the rocket at Obi, than when he starts flying it moves forward when he is about to fire the grappling hook.

The RF on the hero helmet is incapable of moving. The moving RF is CG or broken.

Well, that is what I was refering to, they show it moving in CG, I didn't know if his question was refering to if it was supposed to move or if in the movie it moved.

I'm gonna go with what foxbatkiller said. When it moves in the movie I'm pretty sure those are CG shots.

Chris, are you referring the picture just posted in the DSG's "motivation" thread?

The shot while Jango is in the air, aims his arm, AND the rangefinder falls into place is CG.

I was wondering the same thing because I always thought the RF was actually fixed until in underwent CG.

I remember it only being CG when the RF moves down. The only thing I cant remember off the top of my head, is that after he recovers from nearly falling off the side of the platform, I think it was after that part, but you see that the RF appears to have been ripped off, and its missing from his helmet. I wonder if that was a stunt helmet or just removed by CG..

i thought when he was hanging on to the side of the platform it was in the down position.

You know what, I think the RF gets broken off when he hits the ground, when his jet pack flys off and explodes..

Here ya go, just got this. Its not perfect, but you can clearly see that the RF is missing completly, and this is just after he falls from the jp flying off

Problem is that it's not a real person that hits the ground. CG Jango again.

I know it was CG. I was just pointing out that at that point in the scene, the RF is broken off, and when they had either morrison or a stuntman while hanging off the side of the platform, you see that the RF is missing as well. Either it was a 2nd stunt helmet that had it missing already or it was CG'ed out. But I think that there was a secondary helmet for that..
