Methods of Attaching RF?

Bleahhh

I am working on my BKBT..and I was wondering what methods are there to attach the F and earcaps on?

I plan to use Putty to attach the earcaps, which is a piece of cake...

BUt the RF....will drilling holee thru the helmet and the RF bracket and attaching it with a BOLT-NUT system be sufficient? I was worried that the RF might become 'loose' (not be able to retain the 'upright' position) after repeated adjustment on the BOLT-NUT system..

any views?

That's a problem that I also have... You could have a servo installed, but that's pricey. If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear it :)

Well you can do what I did, I used a screw/bolt to hold the RF on my BKBT. Yes, it does become loose after awhile, especially if you move it. To keep from having stay "permantly" loose, or having to pry off the earcap, tighten the bolt, and repaint the earcap, and re-attach it, I used the maget system. I will say this works out to your advantage, because it is easily removable and holds on very well. If you have any more questions, please ask me.

Yes, definately use the magnet system to hold the ear on. That way if you ever need to retighten the bolt, you can do it easily.

i would liek to noe more abt the magne system...can u pls show some progress pics and maybe some detialed instructions? i am quite clueless......

magnets are the way to go.

Simply drill some recesses into the outer ear cap and glue the magnets in. Then drill the part of the ear cap that is attached to the helmet. I bolted it to the helmet then used the magnets to stick to the bolt. On my new helmet I plan to glue this part on and countersink some more magnets into it as it will be stronger having the two magnets touching.

Hope this helps.

I've got spare magnets if anyone needs them
