DUDE you rock!!:thumbup Took about 3 seconds using the "cruser method" Sweet. You can leave the trigger out when you send it back. Just light screw everything back together. I'm going to get apint match and re-paint the handles, they're all chipped up.

I really couldnt believe these MR's had painted handles until I tightened the scews when they became loose and the paint flaked off around them. Add that to the list of things I've been meaning to do in maybe casting myself some tinted color handles, that and fitting some bright LED's in them without butchering the the gun externally.

Is it possible to take the front of the barrel off without messing with the trigger (to remove the barrel plug)?

From looking at the picture of the disassembled blaster, I'd say that the brass sleeve is held in place by the front muzzle and the back power cell.

I would assume that you could remove it by unscrewing one or both ends and then simply slide it apart.

I concur. If you are making available items that are no longer made then you are keeping the costs down for supply and demand. If SgtFang quit making helms and sold the molds to someone else would that person get banned for continuing the work??? I say go for it!!!

The basic way Re-casting works is if 'Item A' (be it a blaster or helmet or whatever) is that produced by a person/artist/company who has a current licence, or is a current manufacturer of said product. Now if a person purchases that product and makes a copy/copies to distribute themselves, without permission from the original artist/person/company, then that is Re-casting.. Also re-casting can be also labelled to someone who has made a copy of the original without altering it in any way, permission or not.

However, if the Original Artist/Person/Company loses the licence to make that product, or announces that the product will not be made anymore and is unavailable in stock permanantly, then that opens up a loophole into a Grey Area between Re-Casting and Not Re-casting...

The issue of Casting off of MR items have come up a few times, and im sure that it will many more.... Personally they have publically announced that no more Star Wars items will be made... so in all fairness if a fan or someone takes up the mantle to create these items at very near to, if not, cost price then I wouldnt consider that as Re-casting, nor slap that label on them...

    Thats my 2 cents...

Unscrew the little set screw at the tip, on the bottom. Unscrew the barrell, you might have to grab to brass tip with a set of pliers, but it comes off really easy. Once the brass inset is out, undo the set ecrew all the way and the bulbous tip comes off. Be careful, I dropped that tiny set screw last night, luckily I found it.

You can push the insert, but it's really nice. Has a rubber gasket inset to keep it in place. If you remove it all you'll see is the star shaped opening on the brass tip assembly.

ok well ive finnally been able to disasemble my blasters. i think for the time being im going to try and get some Cold Cast resin kits going. im going to ask some local TDH's if they can help me on this project as ive never done this before. i will probobly be offering 2 versions of the kit 1 with a opend an a closed trigger guard anda version with 2 open trigger guards. the guns will be broken down into the basic so you can assemble them as you would the MRs.
before anything i need to know if there is interest Cold Cast resin kits so if your interested please say so!
    Thanks
    Dana

I think CC is a great idea. CC proved too intensive of a process for me to master, but if you could, I'd imagine they'd turn out very nice!
