    Feb 24, 2008, 9:17 AM - Geonosis Jango Build - How's it Look? #1

    All

I've been fitting and adjusting my Geonoisis Jet Pack all day and hopefully I've cracked it.

Is this in the right place?

PS - The nozzels have been removed for painting :o

Seems about right, and it looks nice too!

Although I hope that suit and vest aren't your jango parts. Not even remotely close to resemble the real deal. But that can be fixed! Oh well, hope you can take it as constructive criticism rather than some guy being mean.

    LOL

The vest and flightsuit are for development puroposes only. IE. I dont mind getting glue on them.

    Thanks for the feedback.

The space between the armor pieces *seems* to be streching a little too far. But that can be because of perspective etc. so put it on first and take a new picture. Possible that when you strap it on, the armor plates will align better.

yea, it is a little too light, but from what I gather, he lightened the photos in photoshop to show the detail on the jet pack better. The hanging pic looks a lot darker. Also, I think the splay at the bottom between the ab/pec plates might have something to do with it being on a hangar, would need to see it worn to pass further judgement

Did you use an action figure as a painting guide for your jet pack? I am not trying to be an elitist but it is painted wrong.......It is a great paint job really it is but it is missing lots of the darker blue......

As far as it hanging on there it looks great!

I'm a stippler for accuracy so the more constructive comments the better.

I'm looking at moving the plates around a bit but this would involve removing the existing snap poppers on the vest and I dont really want to leave holes in it.

I'm awaiting some reference material with regards the JP, but if anyone has a picture shwowing the darker blue areas I would be most appriciative.

** Please note: Everything on the JP image appears lighter than it is for real. I increased the brightness on Photoshop in order to highlight the placement. **

JP Image attached (Minus Nozzels ... Drying :o)

Thanks for your help - Adam

Okay. So I need to paint the middle section dark blue.

I have the correct spray paints here, but I am a complete novice at painting, Hope you guys dont mind but I have one or two questions:

    1. How do you suggest I paint this section without ruining the rest of the pack? Masking off would be almost impossible in the narrow channel areas :-(

    2. This area is quite heavy with rub and buff, whats the best way to strip this off to get a good base for the paint.

    3. Lastley, I notice on the pack at the moment and on so many of your packs / lids / gauntlets there are some fine black lines / weathering effects. How do I make these? Is is a special paint? or is a painting technique?

    4. Going back to my chest armour allignment. Is the vest best laid out flat and the plates alligned, or is it best to wear the vest and have someone arrange them? Is there a specified gap between the plates? (Awaiting Jango reference CD)

Appologies for so many questions, but I want to make whatI have as accurate as I can ... and I'm determind to do as much myself as possible

    Thanks in advance - Adam

Use a fine tip brush and get some watered down dark acrylics on you JP. Get it in all the crevases and let it dry for a moment and then dry off in a downward motion with a towel.
