I used black vinyl to construct the vest I use now and then misted it with gray vinyl spray paint to weather it and make it look more charcol gray. I think it turned out ok, but I hope to make a leather vest soon.

thksdad, I think the color you got looks good. And you can always find some dark gray colored vinyl paint at a local automotive paint store if you ever decided you wanted to darken it up some and weather it.

well thskdad, if u want an accurate vest, i would say the vinal u have is good. i have a jango costume (jumpsuit only, 2002 for my brother).

Yeah man, go with your current color you got. You can always mist the dark blue you have with a grey/black and maybe see how that would look? I would say experi\ment with a small swatch first.

well, i was thinking of getting some dark blue dye from the leather shop, and just playing arround with it till i got the correct color...but, i don't know what color to start with, and if it will even work with the vinal.

Where can i get the gray leather from? any links? I checked Tandy but could not find any gray leather. Also i wonder what leather would be best for a screen accurate Jango vest? i have a old leather coat that is the right color of gray. But i'm not sure it could be taken apart and made into the vest.
My other concern with converting it into the vest would pre-existing stitch holes from being a jacket.

First of all, it's vinyl, not leather (if vinyl isn't leather)
Second of all, Thksdad said he got it from a local fabric shop, which was mentioned somewhere in the 2nd to 4th post i think.

Maybe post us with some pics of the old vinyl (or leather) jacket, and we might be able to decide what.
