Jango Vest question

I ordered some samples today.
Hope to get it soon and will post it then.

Does some of you know how much useful leather you get out of one hide that kysonleather is offering?

When making a vest, especially as expensive as something made from leather, how would one give it the appearance to be semi rigid, similiar to that of soft body armor for police. I mean this is supposed to be a flak vest right? I want mine to look like it means business. Is there anything that can be added inside the vest as its being made that wont degrade over time?

Let me know

Thanks

DM

About the color of the vest... I must admit that the blue tone of the fabric is almost not seen in person... I saw it this weekend in Lisboa, and I can say is more grey than blue... I can think it's a charcoal grey that had some kind of SOFT blue applied on it, but very very very light.

I think the best way is something similar to the charcoal grey, like Darth Steven said, with some blue touches, no more... I wouldnt really go with a blue or similar leather.-.. :$:$:$

My 2 cents :$

Let's see how this end, cause I'm really interested :p

Yesterday i ordered 3 different colors and will start producing the 3 vests on tuesday.

So the color war wont stop next week;)

One question.

Did i understand it right that the Velcro is only on the left side of the vest?

Is there any other Velcro slot or zipper slot on the vest or is this the only way how you slip in the vest?

No, there is also velcro on the lower left side. Also, if you can't tell from the pic, the velcro on the collar doesn't go all the way through. It stops about an inch from the end.

Hey Foxbat,

thanks man i was wondering that with only one velcro it would be very close to put on.
But now, everything seems so much easier(y) .

Thx

Mike

At the moment I'm in the process of doing the Velcro parts of the vest.
I know that the Velcro on the left shoulder is accurate but I'm absolute not happy with it.
I think it would look better without the velcro.

What do you all think, should it have the Velcro on the shoulder or not?

Your suggestions plz.

Thx

Mike

I would really like to see/get an accurate vest... I know is may sounds weird, but if the original has it, and is possible to make, then GO AHEAD MATE !!! ;)

And show it !!!

I have finished my first prototype in black leather.
this is a size XL Vest and its a little to big for me and the mannequin.

Any suggestions?
