Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

Wow, other than reading different members' threads/posts, I feel like I haven't been on here to do an update in a LOOOOOOOONG TIME! Well, here's just a small on. After much deliberation and comparison, I finally placed my order for a LSFU Jango Vest. The Bobamaker is no-doubt top-notch, but after close comparisons with screen shots and production pictures, I feel the LSFU vest is more screen accurate. ANYHOW...I am still working on perfecting my own "practice" vest, as well as attaching my holsters to thigh armor, dirtying things up, etc. I even purchased a vest and some Mando armor online; maybe I can talk my wife into suiting up. Pics will come at a later day. Thanks!!

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

Holy $**t!!! I can't believe I have not had ANY kind of an update since Oct. of last year. Anyhow....

    This arrived yesterday!!

    imag1301-jpg

Now comes the painful part of cutting into it for the jetpack straps, and punching holes in it for the armor. So I only do it ONCE, what are some of YOUR favorite ways to attach the armor and WHY???

I would REALLY like your input before I defile this BEAUTIFUL piece. By the Way: THANK YOU DEBBIE (LSFU)!!!

    Regards,
    Jason

PS: Once I weather the armor I think I'll be ready to submit for 501st acceptance....WOO HOO!!!

    Nice Jango man!!!!!

use velcro behind the codpiece and front the jumpsuit betwen your legs to have a secure attach.

you can put together the cod and girthbelt to have a better look.................

    well is my opinion...................

    good luck..........

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

Hey Jason hit Brian up he did a real good job attaching his armor to his vest with snaps. I think he said he practiced on an old t-shirt before doing it on the vest to get everything placed right.

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

Snaps are the way to go, I used velcro to get the armor in place, then I outlined it in chalk and placed the snaps.

and btw my heart rate was through the roof when I had to cut my LSFU vest..........

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

Looks like a BEAUTY man!!! Yep... I glued the snaps on the armor, then chalked them, stood in front of the mirror and pressed where I wanted. Once the chalked marks were in place I punched the holes.

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

These are in another post, but I wanted them here as well, as part of my progression. Now have the LSFU Leather Vest, all is weathered. Still to do:

    1. Add a snap to the knees to prevent slipping
    2. Reenforce sides of knees
    3. Boot replacement depending on reviews of CROW's work
    4. Clip attachment for the gauntlet tubes inside the sleeves
    5. Add som superglue to each of the slits/holes in the flightsuit to prevent fraying or tearing

Input and suggestions are ALWAYS welcomed!!

    As always, Thanks for EVERYTHING!!

So does this vest just go on over your head if you left the zipper off?
    Thanks!

Yeah, the Jango vest just slips over your head and velcros at the left collar and down the left side.

How much allowance did you put in the neck hole for your head to get through?

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

I followed the pattern for a LG, then added a slit on the left side from the neck opening to about 1/2 the distance to the shoulder seam. Add velcro underneath to close.

Re: Jango: My First "REAL" Build

It has been AGES since I've posted here!!!! I think I've spread myself too thin between TDH, FISD, 501stSithlords, etc. Anyhow, just wanted to share how stoked I am about getting in on a pair of ALREADY FINISHED GIO (Crowe) Jango Boots. SWEET!!!! Hopefully they will arrive by LegoLand, but if not, maybe by WonderCon????

If anyone will be at either of those, hit me up!!!
