    Jango Knee Armour Sculpts

Finally started work on Jango Knee Armour. I will be publishing WIP pics as always on my website in the next few days. I'm sculpting each knee in three sections, then joining them before moulding. This means that each knee will be one single cast, no building or glueing. Once moulded I will be selling both plain fibreglass copies and Aluminium Coldcast versions.

First section is complete, here's where I'm at...

I sculpted the "outer segment" for the left knee today using an oil-based clay (Chavant). I'm really pleased with how this turned out. Next step is to sculpt the outer segment for the right knee then I can make a mould of both, make a resin cast of each piece and use these on the final sculpts.

Daz, be sure you get enough curvature at the back of the outer piece.

Thanks for the pic. The curve looks less on the clay sculpt because the back needs cutting away. This will make more sense once I have the resin copy cast and trimmed. Mould is finished so I should get the copy made today.

    Thanks again for the info

Here you go KaanE, the resin copy is made and trimmed. This shot shows the curvature.

The other side's now finished, here's the pair together. Before I can cut the indents into these where the launchers sit, I will need to make the launchers. So this will be the next step...build the launchers.

One question Daz, are you going to make two complete knees and then mould them, or just one frontal piece, and glue the sides on each set?

"Two complete knees". I'm going to sculpt one cetral piece, make a mould of it then cast two resin copies. This will then give me all the pieces needed to construct the knees and mould them as single items, just like my Boba knees.

Yes, it looks like I'll be able to use a set of these for your order. Not far to go now on this project.

Not metal, but coldacst. It's a process of mixing aluminium powder with resin and then it can be polished to reveal the metal powder. This is how the screen used armour was made.

Any one there? Did you all just abandon me in this hole with these savage beasts, armed only with a pair of chopsticks? Well, I gess I'm doing fine considering I've just finished fighting all these beasts leaving none alive, but it shure would be nice to have someone to talk to. Besides my pet rock that is.
Hi there, rock how are you today. (change to falseto voice)
    I'm fine how are you?
Well, I'm fine just a little lonely. Wait, I think I'm going MAD. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Launchers are finished and the indents on the outer right knee are complete. Now I have to make the indents on the outer left knee section.

Might be a good idea. I'll see how the resin ones look when I make the first CC knees.
