Jango Gauntlet Blueprints

do you have any flat tempalates if not then how were the made?

I am still working on the flat patterns for both the Boba & Jango gauntlets. I just had a major break through. Now if I can get some time to work on them it shouldn't take too long, so stay tuned.

All of my drawings and templates are done using reverse engineering techniques from photos of the props.

hey Wiz any updates on those guantlets?

I was going through AOTC frame by frame during the jango-obiwan scene, as well as the special features in the bucket head section, and noticed something appears bright red on the jango costumes left outside guantlet, anyone know what it is? is/are one of the nozzle tips painted red possibly?

In the left gauntlet on the right has a red led.

where, are the LED's located on jango?

I havent seen em yet.

I am still working on them. I have nearly finished the Boba Fett version I just need to do a test fit and most kilely have to update the drawings. Then I can get back to Jango's.

Christmas has put me behind and I have a cold. I am only up now because I had a coughing fit and had to sit up for a while.

These are next on the list to be completed.

hey could i get the flat templates, i've done a little costuming but still new to it so i need every thing i can get.

Sorry I haven't finished these yet, to be honest I have gotten a little burned out. I have spent the better part of the last 2 years creating Fett patterns so I am working on a few other projects to take a break, plus I have a couple of commissions that need to be completed before I can get back to my own Boba Fett and the gauntlet patterns.

But, I can say that that I have completed the basic 2D drawings for the Jango gauntlets; also I am in the process of learning Rhino. Once I have created the gauntlets in Rhino, with just a few clicks Rhino will make flat patterns, which will save a ton of time.

I haven't given up on these, just needed a rest.

WOF, any updates? Hope I am not buggin, just curious.

Sorry no updates. I have some new software (Rhino 3D) that I will be using to create the patterns for these and I am still learning how to use it. Plus I am still trying to get caught up on some other projects that I need to get out the door.

I haven't forgotten these.

Sorry I have been in a bit of a slump lately with regards to Fett stuff. I am trying to get back into the swing, but so far nothing. Jango's gauntlets are the next on the list followed by the helmet and the arena "rocket pack"

As for Rhino I have version 3. It's a fantastic program and very easy to work with since I already know AutoCAD, but my drawing is also in a slump so I have a double whammy acting against me.

Not to worry I have had slumps in the past so it is only a matter of time before it passes. Encouragement like this always helps. so thank you!

As I have said in the past I love seeing what folks can do with the templates. There are some very talented folks out there and they are doing a fantastic job.

Do you mean like that? You know that we all appreciate all of the hard work and time you've put into these templates Alan. I don't think that I can stress that enough. With out you, there'd be a lot of naked Boba and Jango Fetts running around the conventions. Perish the thought. ( shudder... )

If there's any way that any of us can help you out, aside from our praise, just let us know. Speaking of which, I'm going to start work on a step-by-step guide for assembling your helmet templates. I'll let you know when I've got enough done so you can go over it. It'll give me something to do while I anxiously await your Jango gauntlet templates.

Sorry I know that it has been a while with out an update. The good news is that I have gone through and have updated all my software so creating flat patterns is know a lot easier and faster.

The next step is to create the 3D models. Once those are done it just a matter of a few clicks and the flat pattern/templates are complete.

Hopefully soon, I have a number of commisions to finish first, but as soo as those are done these are the next one up.

I haven't posted the templates yet. Sorry real life is keeping me very busy lately. I have even had a chance to work on my own Fett project.

Please bare with me I have a few projects that I have deadline on that have to come first, but I haven't forgotten this one.

Well how do you use these blue prints exactly? They seem like 3d shapes and cutting that out could be confusing...for me anyways.

Anyone made a tutorial for these yet?

I have been building up a set of gauntlets using WOF's templates. though unfinished I managed to work out what needed to be cut out etc.
most of it is cut from flat sheets, but the tricky part is getting the clamshell part to be the right shape.

I had them printed out at 1:1 in illustrator, then traced onto 2mm ABS sheet to form the basis of each gauntlet. I have been taking progress pics as i go so if i have time I'll put it into a tutorial.

So...I take it there are no templates currently?
Should I just use the Boba oens and alter as necessary for Jango?

That's exactly what I did. I took the Boba gauntlet templates and altered them, using every single photo of Jangos gauntlets that I could find. Although not quite as accurate as Cruzers, I still feel that mine turned out pretty decent.

As far as I know... no. I don't beleive that a final definitive version for Jangos gauntlets has ever been completed.

Sorry guys. Just haven't had the time to spend on my Fett projects like I use to. Since adopting my two little boys life has been very busy! Right now I am designing and building a tree house. I am hoping that this winter, once life moves back inside I may find some time to get these done.
