i followed the possible sell as well. too bad it fell through. i had a vest made for my version 3 that i sold this summer. i have pics that i can post later. i used the faux leather instead of real leather. i will check with the seamstress and see what she will charge for material and sewing.

the vest did have the correct seams, velcro closure on shoulder and sides. it also had the piping. it was pretty close to what everyone will want. i just have to find the right color leather of faux leather again.

Fett2210...the only thing I can say without closer detailed pictures is that the fabric you used looks too "shiny."

    Thx Foxbatkllr, your right.
I have to use the inside of the fabric out so i think this will match the right style. (I will change this by doing the second Protoype after the weekend).

Any other sugestions? Plz let me know

    thx

    10 Days later...
    not enough sleep but..

I changed the fabric of the Jumpsuit and used a zipper instead of velcro.
I made the collar more accurate and also made the Armdetails.

    Here we go..

Every time when i see this pic i think, should i really post it?
Plz no comments about my stomach size

On the inside of the Jumpsuit i attached a rubber strap around the waist
so you can adjust it more tight or more wide.

    Armdetail

On this version i used a zipper instead of velcro

So let me know what you think about this one.
And give me some sizes for an interested threat.

    Thx

    Re: Jango Flight suit run

Wow, I think that looks pretty good. I'm glad you showed up-close pics of the seams, they look like a good quality.

The suggestion I would make if you want to make this suit completely compatible with everyones different tastes of color is to make the suits out of 100% cotton material so that it can be dyed and lightened at will.

I've always felt the fabric was a 100% brushed linen. I actually found some very similar fabric in downtown L.A. within the garment district.

The only question I have is about the two seam lines going down the middle and backs (yes it's on the backs of the sleeves as well) of the jumpsuit sleeves. I'd have to study the pictures again but I'm not sure if there is one or two seams.

Also, I'd close up the holes at the bottom of the arms to get rid of some of the excess fabric so you're not fighting with it when you put on your gloves and gauntlets

That's it but I do have to give you props as a fellow tailor...your construction looks top quality. ...and I like the zipper better also.

You are on the verge of making a very accurate Jango flightsuit if you can replicate all of the intricate details.

Here's an upclose pic of the sleeve fold for you from the ref. cd, and a link where you can spot the fold running along the back of the sleeve when you load the large picture (look closely at the back of the sleeves in pic # 138 & 139).

    Yes,

i will definitely go with a cotton fabric so the customer is not bound to the color.
I really like the color that i used on this jumpsuit but will check for an cotton alternative fabric the next days.

In the meantime i will open an interest List and hope that some of you will jump in

Will you make the slots for the elastic STRAPS for the knee and shin pieces ???

That would be interesting... cause it could be done correctly from origin .

    Re: Jango Flight suit run

    Hola Ben,

thanks for the question about the knee and shin holes.
I thought about that also and came to the following problem.

Every one has a different leg and knee size and it would be absolute terrible if you got that super accurate jumpsuit and your knee and shin holes are to high or to low.

If all of you would life in my neighborhood i would make a big barbecue with you and would make the measurements for the knee holes and the shin holes by myself. NP.
For those that want to come over to me, your welcome
Ive got cold beer, hot coffee or Gluehwein

    With other words,
i think the safest way is if you put on your jumpsuit, measure that point where you need the knee and shin slots/holes and let a local tailor do the little part. They shouldn't take more than 15 bucks for it.

    Mike
Back to the point if all of you would live in my neighborhood.

    Re: Jango Flight suit run

    About the material:

I received a lot of questions about the material i use and if customers can send their own material to me so i could make a flight suit out of it.

Before i answer this, here are two other pictures of my material.
The first picture is one that i made on the original Jango flight suit in Paris this year. The sample fabric that i hold in hand is the material i have used on the flight suit i made.
The second photo is a photo montage, i took off some color of the sample fabric and also lighted it up a bit like being washed a couple of times.

    original

    photo montage

The fabric i used is a 100% cotton that will get more light and brushed as
    often you wash it.

I´m gonna make an extreme washing day tomorrow by washing my flight suit 6 - 10 times Will post pics also.

    Cruzers fabric
I will receive some samples from cruzer , thx again , of his fabric that was used on his flight suit in the mail soon and will post pics then.

So the next days we will see more results.

If you want your own fabric on the flight suit, no problem!!!
You can send me your fabric and i will make the flight suit out of it.

Oh man, I knew I was forgetting to do something!! I even looked to see if I still had some spare pieces, and I do.
I'll send that out tomorrow, express airmail...unless it's way too expensive! But it looks like that fabric you have looks pretty good. Is it a little on the purple side or is it dark blue? A teaspoon of some bleach in the wash and I'd probably be happy, but I've always liked the faded blue color instead of the purplish color.

Sorry bro, life and two kids just gets busy as heck most of the time...and not less of the time around here.

I'll send that fabric out tomorrow,
    Lorenzo

I've been watching this with interest. I am curious though. Could you take a picture in the daylight of the suit and a close shot of the fabric? I think the lighting in your room is throwing me off cause the suit looks pretty bright to me .. but like I said I am sure it's just the lighting.

    thanks

    Re: Jango Flight suit run

    By the way!

As most of you already know, i have changed my name from Fett2210 to Loanstar.
After more than 4 years as a member of this board i found it was time to give my name more character.
I started with Fett2210 like, o.k. what kind of board is that here, just another of these hundred Star Wars boards?
So i wasn't very creative by choosing a name.

But this board was never like something else, it was from the beginning absolutely different and had so much creative and enthusiasm members.
So after a long time, i did was had long to be done.
    I changed my name.

This name Loanstar means a long history for me, its also my Character in the SWG game.

    so don't get confused!

    Loanstar is born.

calculate the jump to hyperspace and back to work now!

About the color of jango Jumpsuit, the right color is a Grey/blue-purple , very similar of the old Germany Officer uniform used during the WWII.
To see, touch ( without the glass ), and take mold and measured of the Jango costume, is better... if you have all the necessary to work

To me this looks to be a color match to the film suit. I mean between your pic and mine, it shows the different color variations in different lighting like Jango film costume.

It does not seem to my the color from the Jango FSuit, probably seemed, but you are not equal, I do not believe that they are the colors of WW2

The light is very important, in the images... I know ! .. the reflex of the glass too... Usually the glass have a component of green/blue.... Also the extra clear, is not perfect neutral.
I have more pictures of Jango suit. But the color is different in many photos.
On the real I had compared some color and fabric.... grey, blue and more !
If you want my modest help, the color of the Germany Officer Uniform is a very good reference. You can use the RAL5014 ( taubenblau ) but more dark ( 40-50 % about ) as ulterior reference.
In the follow images you can note the different photos with and witout flash, and several lights.

Thats what i thought Stefano. The lighting does explain the blue to purple role in differents pics. My house witn its vinyl siding believe it or not, does the same thing. It looks blue certain times of the day and purple and even gray.
And the color of the german suit looks more like Cruzers found fabric. But i have taken pics of it in different lighting and it does look purple-ish.

    Hey everybody,

sry that it took so long since my last update but i'm still working on the right fabric.

I received Cruzers fabric samples some days ago, thank you so much again Cruzer :thumbup , and have to find a new supplier for it here in Europe or India.

I'm in contact with a lot of fabric suppliers and will have some positive results soon.

I'm also finished my Vest prototype and will post pics the next days

I'm also planing another short Trip to Lisbon / Portugal to the Star Wars Exhibition that moved from Paris to Lisbon to get some new and up to date reverence pics about the fabric and colors .

So stay tuned, don't jump off that thread and be sure that you will get a Top Quality flight suit with the super accurate fabric soon.

Now i wish you a happy 3 Advent Sunday

    thx

    Mike

Thanks for the update loanstar. I am still interested. I may get 2 suits so my buddy can wear my jango as well. I'd be curious to see pics in the daylight of the fabric and maybe a close up shot of the fabric

    thanks,

    Re: Jango Flight suit run

    Hey everybody,

    thanks for your suggestions.
I will make some shots of my actual fabric in the daylight, if i ever see the daylight :
(At the moment i don't came out of my house because of to much work you guys make me)

For those of you who want to use Cruzers fabric.
I'm in close contact with Cruzer and he managed to get me the last Yards of his fabric.
No more left after this. His fabric will be sent to me directly from the states to Germany and cost a lot because of the shipping, insurance and tax.

I can make round about 5 suits out of his fabric and it will cost $US 50 each suit extra because of the shipping, insurance and tax.
That means 200 $US for a flight suit with Cruzers material

Cruzer had a lot of work, phone calls and emails to get this to me and i want to say
THANK YOU SO MUCH CRUZER :thumbup :thumbup
This guy is awesome, he gave me so much feedback and suggestions on my work .:thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

    About other fabric:
I'm still on it and have to visit some producer and check some samples.
I will let you know soon.

    Nice Work!

The seams that have double stitching are referred to as "french seams". Can you tell me if you actually made "french seams" or is the second seam just for looks? The is very nice handiwork! We can always use more quality costumes!

BTW I am new to the boards, my nephew has requested that I make a Jango Fett for him. I am here to learn this costume from the experts.

What fabric did you end up settling on? Did you ever get the results after being washed several times?

    Hi Loanstar,

I just have to reply again that this is wonderful workmanship and your attention to "cannon" detail is wonderful!! Now that I have been researching more, I am more in awe of your attention to detail!

    :thumbup

    I am very impressed!!

I did this neckseal just for my own and some friends.
Normaly Jango wears a plain neckseal.

But if you need one I could do it for you. Price would be 35$US.
