The Jango Fett helmet prelude has ended!!!!

So I been away from my regular work for a few days due to moving etc...

So today I walk to my cubicle and there was 3 boxes that said props written all over them. well not really, but we know our boxes. We know when we recieve the important stuff. Nicely taped, insurance labels, proof of delivery labels....etc

Well one of those nicely boxes was a box from our beloved FETTPRIDE. ohhh i was like a 6 year old opening up the boxes.

Anyways, my friends! We cant get any better then this.

I present you THE ULTIMATE JANGO FETT HELMET!

I think I missed something......are they for sale now? The comparison pic is a BKBT?

What are the dimensions from ear to ear and visor to key hole bottom? Ifyou wouldn't mind.

Probably. Actually I would like to have it ready for Comic Con July 19th. I have a window of oppurtunity. only one week. yikes!!!

With everything else i have to do. get ready for wedding on July 8th, unpack all my stuff to my new home now, make a few Jango belts for my buddies and work on some upgrades on my jango armor. All that by July 10th.

Very cool Seeker, that looks awesome! Now, if a nicely packed box would mysteriously show up at my house containing your old bucket, that would be even cooler!

No, I would really love to see us find out what they actually used though. I used floquil colors for my last helmet. I wish I could remember what colors though

I think the difference it the one on the left is the cold cast = no rub n buff needed, you only need to paint the main colors etc.

Mirax - that woulb be awesome to find the exact colors. Since I have a short time I'll paint with these now. I'll repaint it again when we find the colors.

Wow! That's a great looking helmet, so shiny! But one thing has always bothered me about Jango... his ear looks like it was glued on incorrectly! Oh well, I guess the original prop makers did this for a reason.

Tilt the new one just slightly to it's left side, BAM, that's it baby!

Guys, the BKBT bucket is phenomenal, no doubt. It is indeed the cat's meow of fan made Jango buckets. But it must be stated for the record that there are indeed many not so subtle differences.

It must be considered that the BKBT is in fact a "Boba" Mystery Helmet, that has been modified for Jango. It is not a sculpt, or re-sculpt in terms of clay sculptures, ect. What this means is, no matter how you slice it, it is impossible for any artist to capture all of the details (subtle or not so subtle) of a one dimensional image, and incorporate it into a three dimensional object. I should know, and feel I have the right to say so, being that I spent 2 years with the original MSH, and the MSH2. Which WERE sculpts.

The differences between these two helmets are much more apparent in real life. Pictures are very deceiving. It's been a topic of discussion for years here. Exhibit photos, vs. fan digi cam photos, vs. published images, ect. They can all appear different from one another. It is fact. Lighting, perspective, focal length, ect. And perhaps more importantly, the possible bias of the particular photographer Which is why I've chosen not to take comparison photos of this helmet next to a BKBT. Because no matter what, a tilt here, a skew there, and I could be subconsciously pushing the shot more to the favor of my own interest It's human.

Surely, there will be those that will be able to take unbiased comparison pictures once a few have settled into the rightful hands of their collectors. (Not dissin' you Turo, I know you were in a hurry )

Bottom line, this IS the "REAL DEAL". There should be no defending this boys and girls. And realistically, there is no comparison. The same would be true for a real "Boba" helmet compared to an MSH, MSH2, or Mystery Helmet It's not meant to offend anyone obviously, otherwise that statement would have been taking a shot at myself as well So that's about as unbiassed as I can get.

You lucky dog Seeker, thats just a great looking helmet. I have not been on the dent for long, but know folks who have seen FP's stuff for years and they never have a bad thing to say about it. So once again great work FP even if I dont end up with one of these babies I hope I get to see one atleast some day.

heh heh. Thanks man. The helmet was made like the real deal. This baby was made by using the gelcoat mixed with alluminum powder and backed with fiberglass.

I still need to permanatey attach the visor, add some mesh in the coin slots, padding and weathering.

I just wanted to say that the "dark blue" elements on the Jango Fett Helmet are made with a "Goffrato Paint" ! This is a particolar antiscratch paint, used to realize elements and items of home furnishing.

Would you care to give us some more information about this? We have been trying to find out the actual colors used and this is the first we've heard of this paint. Any information would be appreciated.

I'm reading the Goffrato Paints are commonly used to paint Aluminum. So we might be up to something here. It looks Italian. All the websites I have visited talk about painting aluminum with Groffrato paints.

Hi there,

In Italy the “Goffrato” indicates a special embossed paint.
More material can be finished with this paint : metal, plastic, MDF, wood.
You must have the correct paint and a eventual primer to use on every specific surface …
Exist one transparent embossed paint that you can apply directly on the colored surface, or it mix together the acrylic or poliurethanic paint. I prefer to use a colored embossed paint because if you apply too much transparent film on the color surface you can risking the effect “whitening of the color”.

You must know the density degree of the “embossed paint”, too.
I have many images of the original Jango Fett, ( arena version ) measured, molds, ecc…from the “Star Wars : the show” in Milan. I have been able to see and TOUCH the Jango helmet, and the rest of the armor. The density of the embossed paint is very very small…

To me it looks liket the blue swatch in the middle. I've always thought it leaned more towards the blue-green (aqua) instead of the blue-purple (royal).

This pictures is not perfect and the colors are very "green"...
by the real vision the first color is very similar on the Jango Helmet, you have my insurance : this color is RAL5000 ( [COLOR=#800080]violet blue[/COLOR] ). The european RAL colors are used as reference standard colors.
Also, as you can notice, the "violet blue" paint have a surface like a "orange peel"... a typical effect of the "embossed paint" ( goffrato ).
See the pictures of the Range finder : the color is more similar of the real.

Turo I cant think of anyone who deserves to be the owner of the first of these amazing helmets, nice work man, as always!!
