Helmet Jango Fett helmet colors

Jawsum

New Hunter
Good evening. I am trying to pin point what kind of coloring I'll need for my Jango Fett costume. I have located the blues (for the helmet), being: Krylon Ocean Blue Short Cuts Spray Paint | Shop Hobby Lobby and Rust-Oleum 12Oz Royal Blu Stoprust Spray | Carter Lumber if I am not utterly mistaken? As for the silver. Is it simply a light primer with some Silver Leaf Rub n' Buff polishing?
Also, for the blues, are there anyone here located in Norway who can pin point me to the same blue sprays or accurate ones? I do not know if they ship spray cans here thanks to some silly regulations.

Last but not least. When I look at photos, it seems like the mandible has a lighter blue around the visor and the darker blue everywhere else. Am I correct? I want to be absolutely sure before I begin to lay down the paint. Thank you : )

The upper cheeks, and ears and band is darker, usually Rustoleum Royal Blue.
The mandibles are lighter blue, usually Krylon Ocean Blue. Not terribly important that you use those exact colors, the two shades of blue just need to work with each other.
The rub and buff is perfect for the silver, though some have had great paint ups using chrome paint painted over with a dullcote.

Hey Jawsum,
i bought my Jango helmet and armor vest from eaglewolf,he used a black base coat then Chrome Alclad II.Its the best brushed steel effect I've seen. Before he sprayed the chrome he buffed the black coat with a fine scothbrite pad to give the next coat it's brushed look. Then the clearcoat gives it a more steel look as opposed to chrome...here's a pic of him wearing it as I've no pics of me on this device!

Lemme see if I got this straight: He used a black primer, than a chrome paint for airbrush? Before he applied the chrome he used this sponge lige schotchbrite thingie. And after applying the chrome he sealed it with a clear coat? Did I miss anything?
The pics looks GREAT.

Black base coat....then a very fine scotch brite pad....then chrome alclad II paint....then clear coat.the chrome alclad paint comes in a spray can ...it's a bit pricey but it's the most important part....check eagle wolfs posts also he covers how he painted it up.The chrome looks super shiny untill you clear coat it,then it looks like brushed stainless....if you need any more pics from different angles or close ups let me know ,I'll post them up!

Check his posts ,his primer may have been a straight grey ,I don't remember...the black base coat may have been a gloss black...then a light sanding in circular motions on the gloss black to accept the the coat of alclad chrome sounds right but check....cause the method he used was perfect...

Good video on YouTube of this spray paint. Apparently it does need to be sprayed over a black gloss finish to look proper. Guy in the video is kinda annoying but it works....

I'm thrilled with the outcome that eaglewolf got,my leg armor is Plastic and doesn't quite match the alclad 2 fiberglass upper armor so I might try doing a piece with that stuff myself and see if it matches up,but I'm planning on going all fiberglass so I might not bother...

That will be perfect. Very inexpensive stuff, and easy to install. Can pick it back up and move it very easily so you get the placement where you want it. Apparently gets pretty permanent after the adhesive has sat for a day or so. And if it smells like mine, it reeks of cat p i s s. Lol.

Hahahaha, oh my... Mr Jango "Cat ****" Fett.. Oh joy. Well thanks a lot guys, you've been more than helpfull! : D

EDIT: Of course, now I have a slight problem buying it since none of the amazon links ship to norway (or ship for $$$$) and I can't find it on ebay. Anyone here living in the states able to pick it up and ship it to me? I'll of course pay for everything.

I can do it....let me find out the shipping, but shouldn't be much. Might not be that exact brand, but it is 1/8 auto pinstripe. Email me at syllander.com and I'll send you pics of mine.

i would suggest checking around your place first though. They carry it at auto parts stores here in the states. Autozone or similar.

Hmm you're right. If I were to stay in this town much longer, I'd strike the deal of you finding it for me. But I'll go to a much bigger town in a couple of weeks, so I'll check there first. But hey, are you able to buy the paint and ship it? The spray paint? They don't sell it here, of course. So if I'm unable to locate the same colors here, would you be able to do that? : )

Couldn't do that unfortunately. The usps won't ship it as it's "hazardous".
I would find a locale with MANY brands and colors, then try a few out. It's really not as important that they are the exact color blues, but the two shades need to work off of each other. If you have access to an airbrush BKBT and a few others have done some great sleuth work at using the airbrush paints for that. Sorry brother

Ah no that's totally cool, I guess it was a longshot but worth a try. Then I'll find a place that sells buttload of rattlecans and find me some shades of blue! Thanks again : )
