Over to you Bobby Fett UK
I have gotten the yellow down - but it still needs more coats - so more paint will be on hand tomorrow. Then it will have an orange mist added.
At this tiime I am having problems uploading my photos to photobucket - so will sign up else where and get them up asap!
More tomorrow.
Nice one Rob, will follow this with interest :thumbsup
HeadlessHunter - Gladd to see you be keeping a eye on this thread. That what Rob & I agreed to put it on here, for people like yourself.
You're starting with the best base IMO, the Bobamaker Jet Pack, so this will be a great thread to be on (it) :D
You've got a beau-ti-ful jet pack there BFUK!:suprise Mandalorian Guard sure is lucky to have it!:thumbsup:thumbsup
That's a nice one.
Hi all - what with all the projects and the old bread knife I have not had a great deal of time to up date this - sorry Phil.
So here are some updates.....more coming later.
Yellow first.

I used Revell SM310 for the yello in the end.
Masked ready for the blue.....

.which is almost done right now. Will get the next photo on in an hour or so.
In retro-spect... wouldn't it have been more prudent to dust your yellow areas with the orange before you masked it off to shoot the blue? It would save you having to re-mask that area.
Just a thought I had.
Got the blue down.
Here is a shot to compare the yellow and blue together next to the Boba colours.

The blue looks pretty good but that yellow needs more orange.
I agree, the yellow needs to turn more of a school bus colour.
I concur with the yellow. The pic of my jet pack look funny, looks like it been edited in photoshop, must be me. lol
Yes - I did not dust the orange - but it will get a treatment.
Heres a update from Rob.

Please ignore the dust marks on the spine ;)
Will have the orange on today and start the weathering :thumbsup
What with the white bits on the bottom of the blue spine Rob?
You painted the rocket and thrusters and the back of the jet pack?
Take it after weathering, greeblies, decals after that? It getting there Rob!
Yellow has now been treated to some orange - well caramel.
What white bits :doh :D .....and the back was painted when the blue went on.
back to paint some more now :suprise
The pack's looking really good, can't wait to see how the weathering starts to turn out. I really love these jet pack threads, makes me excited for when I finally start mine.
Lol, just make sure not to paint too much. When the room starts to shift like you're on a boat, it's time to take a break. :lol
Update
I got the lines and decals applied. Decals by Lucksy31 and they really bring it to life. You will see that the yellow has been improved. This was done by using a caramel coat with a thinner coat of the same yellow over the top.

Next I need to touch in some areas and then seal with a satin clear coat prior to adding the 'matt finish' weathering of black and earth tones.
Man! This is soooo good! You can do it all man!
:skull El1te
Brings it to life. Not half!
Rocket & Thrusters & Greeblies next!
Any updates Rob?
big bump
I have finished the main body. Do you think this is enough weathering?

If anyone has got a BM harness in use. Any help please how people go about doing it!
Beautiful.
I'm working on making confertable jango jet pack harnesses for sale. With accurate straps, buckle clips and tri-glides. You would have to rivet the nylon webbing to your fiberglass jet pack.
let me know if want to be added to the list.

wow phil, that is a great looking JP. He did a great paint job for you! EXCELLENT WORK!
Where do see that this is a Jango Fett Jetpack? I only know it as a ROTJ Boba Fett Jetpack.
This is what he wears at the begining of ATOC prior to his fight with Obi Wan. It gets destroyed in that fight and later in the movie he is wearing the "arena" version which is the stubby
I will have to watch that movie a little closer.
I can't help but be in a state of shock over these last few posts.
Great paint-up though!
on a side note is there anything taboo about having a stubby JP without a dent?
not really, i'm pretty sure there's plenty of guys with the stubby/dentless combo. the classic jetpack with dented helmet combo is acceptable too. i'm personally doing the classic/dentless combo.
I just checked out the movie and its amazing what you dont see. Thanks for the enlightenment. And get over yourself maud'dib. I dont claim to know everything so that's why I ask.
Wow Bobby Awesome work Bro!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
Leo
This jetpack got altered to fit his customed harness also. It is fantastic!
