Thanks man. Try to get something done just about every day. Most of the time. I just attached the shoulder pieces today. Fun. ;-) Thanks. I try to keep the pics coming.

sizing is looking good...I think you may have a little more shaping to do on the collar. It seems to stand out away from you just a bit. It is hard to explain but when I look at the last pic, it could go "around" you a little more so that the tips do not stick out.
Then again if the vest came out to meet the armor it might also take care of it.
Keep the progress coming.
I had to heat my collar to fit right...depending on your chest size it does sit a little weird.
I gotcha. That's an easy fix. I can bend the plates to shape without too much difficulty. FINALLY! I have the vest straightened out! Took me long enough hahaha. Thanks guys.
So I spent the evening getting those key slots figured out. Goodness. That was like the hardest part for me. Combination of a drill, dremmel, hand file, and lots of sanding. Finally, got them just right. Wow. That was crazy. Then I went and did a whole lot more sanding on the helmet, and then my younger bro, Daniel, was fooling around with a spare trim piece from the helmet and figured out how to get this insane shine on it. Using steel wool, and constant rubbing back and forth in the same direction and he showed me what it looked like and asked if he could do that on my helmet. I said yes, and he went away at it. And he got it. Better than I could. He didn't want to stop once he started haha. And wouldn't let me help. ;-) So, big thanks to Daniel. Now he can say he had a big part in helping with my costume. In fact, he's almost always with me when I'm doing it, trying to help in some way. That's what brothers are for, right? ;-) Here are some pics. My painting needs just a bit of work. Then need to get the rangefinder all set. And polish and t visor. Yeah!
The stack of supplies are for Jango. The stack of boxes is my Biker Scout ready to go! As soon as our deal gets finalized. Hope it's soon. ;-)

That spot I mentioned before on the back of the dome is now gone. Good job on the sanding. Last thing is to get some metal polish and shine it like a new dime..........that is until you dirty it up with some weathering.
oh yeh it is looking quite nice
Your doin good man keep it up!
Those holster look off. The pattern seems like it was based on a Han Solo holster and only partially modded to be Jango holsters. The leg straps should not have buckles on them. they also seem too dark brown.
Here is a pic of mine for reference:
Wow...that was a lot of negatives...sorry, man. Keep trucking it is a daunting costume but you are getting there!
How do the leg straps hold together? Velcro? Or snaps? And yeah they're a bit dark. Not hard to adjust the coloring. I can fix that. When the blaster is in them, I think the shape looks better. They're not like, pre-shaped. In the pic, it's completely flat. Yeah, a bit of work to do on those....;-) Seems that's my lot in life. Ha
I fixed up those holsters of mine. Ditched the buckles, and fixed the color on them. The shape btw, is a whole lot better when there is an actual pistol in them. The leather wasn't pre-shaped. The lighting for the pics is not super good, they are a lot lighter reddish brown than before. And I also did a bit more on my helmet. I glued in the keyslots, attached the mesh, and got my rangefinder all set up. Yeeeessss! I used screws for both the earpiece and the rangefinder.

dude your suit is coming together amazingly. you need to post pics of all your finished parts
Oh my word. I am almost done with my Asok helmet. I just need to polish, weather, and add the pinstriping. Now that everything is together, it's like,.....I can't put it into words. It is the most amazing helmet I've ever seen. (I'm sure everyone feels the same way about theirs ;-) Asok, you rock! Being able to wear it, is just amazing. I'm still speechless......

Looking sharp. Did you reshape the collar a bit too? It looks good in those last 4 pics. This is really coming together well.
I have enjoyed your build so far. This is looking nice.
You have a flightsuit already,...right? I would probably have some more constructive criticism if you had the FS on as well. (just because things start to "pop" when with more of the kit on). The overall is falling in line though. Good work.
oh and nice Fourth of July jetpack.
I sent the flightsuit back in exchange for a smaller size. Yeah, that should be coming in in a week, maybe more. Yeah. haha, combo of paint, tape, gee, that thing is a pain to tape. I need to get more tape and try to find a couple of uninterrupted hours. haha. Thanks man. Yeah, I've had a ton of fun with this build. Thanks again for all your critiques and tips. Thanx

you will get a gauntlet rocket with your Cruzer gaunts.
He said that it didn't come with. Yeah I have to find one. He said he'll be making some new casts this spring sometime. Yeah. I wish it came with one.
oh ok, The kit that I got came with one. But I got the kit second hand from Berkal sooooo.
I really need to get to work on my kit btw, I am about halfway done. My darkside aluminum parts are on the way right now........Man I need to make some time to work.
I'm not a Jango guy but it looks like this build is comming along nicely. Nice shape to to the homemade metal armor! I once made my own and it was quite a task to slowly shape/ curve it.
clonecollector: Yeah I love my steel armor! I actually hammered and bent it to get the shape right. I still need to get the 2 little slots on the one chest piece figured out. I know how I'm going to do it, I just ned to do it. Yeah. Thanks.
IzzyMel: Ok yeah, how much do those go for? I've seen them on here before, I need to try and find who sells them. Contacts, anyone? Thanks.
BTW, I ordered new boots. Randomly found them on ebay. Kenneth Cole reaction boots. Some used pair, for $30, and man oh man do they look great! Can't wait for them to arrive. I'm making new steel armor for the boots. Just cut them out tonight. Going to be great.
thats a good (and lucky) find. They should work about as good as you can get without finding some pit crews.
Yeah, searched everywhere for pit crews. They seem to have disappeared. But yeah, just happened to find these. I was happy.
did your flightsuit ever come in?
I had to send it back in exchange for a new smaller size. It should arrive here soon. ;-)
oh. gotcha. so wat do you have left to do on the costume?
Let's see,
Finishing up attaching all the armor (once the flightsuit arrives)
Assemble my gauntlets once I receive them from Cruzer!
Painting of my jetpack.
Finish up my blasters.
Paint on my boots (still need to arrive)
Adjust color on holsters.
Install helmet gasket (still needs to arrive)
Weather everything.
And........that might be it....I think.
Yeeeeup.
Boots look good!

any updates......
Hahaha...Midterms. Yeah. Did one today, one tomorrow, and two on wednesday. Yuck. After wednesday, I should be able to do a bit more. ;-)
ooh that sucks.. i hate tests like that
Bit of an update:
Gauntlet darts arrived! Yay!
Waiting on hearing back about a rocket.
Waiting on gauntlets from Cruzer.
Waiting on helmet gasket from Chucko.
Waiting on my "replacement" jumpsuit to arrive from EVO.
I did a bit of color work on the holsters and ammo belt. Looking good. My chest armor is all attached, need to attach the backplate. Need to attach the boot armor. Finish up the helmet and blasters. Weather everything. And....can't think of anything else. ;-)
I was wondering what happened to your build. Hope ya get what you're waitin' for soon. It is so hard to wait sometimes.
Yeah that's for sure. But really, these past 2 weeks or so have been absolutely crazy with school, midterms, family stuff, all kinds of things. Spring break is next week, so I'll be able to knock some stuff out of the way, like finishing painting the jetpack and finalizing my armor and stuff. ;-) Yeah, updates and pics will be up shortly! Thanks
Great progress!!
Jetpack is nearing completion. I will post pics soon. All the colors are on. Now it's just detail work, weathering, decals, etc. ;-) I'm really happy with how it turned out. Man, getting those colours right was a pain! Wow. Haha
Helmet gaskets on it's way.
And here is the final helmet. Thanks to Asok and Chucko. Thanks so much guys! And thank you MOW, and Galactic Bounty Hunter for the jetpack! I have to say the helmet and the jetpack have been the toughest parts of the costume. For sure. haha
And a big thanks to my brother, Daniel. If I needed an extra hand, he was there. ;-)

amazin.....enough said
Traffic has been a bit lighter the last couple of weeks.
cant wait to see the build finished
mhlayne, I just think its folks waiting on stuff to come in... I know I am waiting on my soft parts so I can finish up my Mando... So not much to update folks on... I love the work you've done so far... How much further do you have to go?
Yeah I agree. ;-) Well, really, just waiting on my harness and jumpsuit. I just need to weather my knees, paint the silver parts on my boots, do the harness thing, and attach my armor to the jumpsuit. ;-) Yeah not too much left. Oh I almost forgot, I am waiting on my gauntlets from Cruzer. But that shouldn't take me long to get those all assembled and painted and weathered. Yup. In the home stretch. I do however need a gauntlet rocket. I am waiting on thrax, may send him a pm and check on his progress. ;-)
Gotta ask what size is the boot you get and what size shoe you normally wear; been looking for these boots for some time now and if I ever come across some on the net didn't wanna buy a size I think should fit and don't
Awesome work on the project there; hoping mine can get underway soon
I found a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction Boots on ebay. I normally wear size 12, but I found the boots in size 11.5. They're a bit snug, but I've worn them an I think my feet will be just fine. ;-) So yeah, have a cushion around your size. Just below or just above should work.
Thanks much!
Some updates:
Balsters are totally done. I like them! ;-)
Waiting on:
Cruzer Backplate
Cruzer Gauntlets
Jumpsuit (In Mail)
Fettdad Harness
Jetpack beacon and Stabilizer
Pretty much everything else is done.
Just need to paint the silver on my boots.
Other than those, I think I am about done. ;-) Then it's just, attach everything and go out! Haha. Side project is a 212th clone. It's going well. I might put up a WIP thread.

Great work on those blaster bro, I had a set of similar ones and I opted for the resin casted MR from cruzer; now I have the real deal MR as well. Good luck on the clone, my first costume was clone commander bacara and now I'm working on the jango.
Sweet! I actually did not know Cruzer sold casts of the MRs! Wow. How much were they? And were they 1 piece?
Thanx!
Updates:
Backplate is done. Beacon and stabilizer are on the the jetpack. My cruzer gauntlets are finishing drying! They are totally done except for the rocket. :-( Anyone heave one!?! I'll buy it!
I just need my harness from fettdad, and my jumpsuit is enroute. I just need to paint the boots, and....and.....I think that might be it! Yay! So close. I'll get some pics of my gauntlets here soon.
Awesome stuff mate!
Sounds like you're pretty close now, looking forward to seeing your finished suit![]()
So when I got home from work last saturday, I found this box. The return address was from some dude in California. So I opened it up, and what did I find amongst the wrappings??!!
Haha just kidding. Our Mainecoon Pippin. ;-) Thanks so much for the gaunts and the backplate cruzer. Your stuff is insane. It is sooo awesome. I could go on and on haha. SO the gauntlets are done except for some lining/padding, and the rocket of course. I made my own harpoon from a nail, a ball point pen, and some steel pieces that I cut out. ;-) And the backplate, wow. You gotta have an awesome backplate. ;-) No the light doesn't really light up. My brother was messing around with hislaser pointer haha. So I'm now just waiting on the jetpack harness, jumpsuit, and the rest of my cruzer armor.Yeah I just broke down and got a complete set of his armor. I had to match you know? And all my steel armor is up for sale in the cargohold. I cannot wait to have this baby finished. "Almost there......it's aaawaaay!"
My 212th clone is coming along great too. Gotta update that thread too. Thanks all. Now for pics...
![]()
Lookin great Mike! I'm not sure who works faster, you or Sandy Sith! Keep it up.
Just bought my darkside gauntlet rocket. ;-) Can't wait to get it!!!!!!
Good work man, coming along very nicely. Almost there.......................lol.
Looking good!
Nice to see you putting up a load of pictures.
It's been a while....
Here is where we are at:
Jumpsuit from Bleahhh should arrive soon.
Cruzer's armor should arrive next week probably. (I will have a full set ;-)
My jetpack harness from Fettdad arrived this week. Wow what a nice piece of work. Excellent quality. Comfortable too.
Darkside's gauntlet rocket should arrive soon too.
Just need to stock up on some snap fasteners and elastic for attaching the armor, and some more paint....
Everything else is finished.
To Do:
Paint, weather, and attach all armor
Paint, weather, and attach gauntlet rocket
Finish up the harness rig
Not too much. Just waiting on the stuff. I am guessing, in 2 to 3 weeks it will be totally done and ready for a serious photoshoot. ;-) Thanx
Hello.......here is my Classic jetpack from MOW (sell by cristian)....I used 5 colors check it out............

Hey man that is nice looking! Hit it with some weathering! ;-)
Darkside's gauntlet rocket came. Wow. What a beautiful piece! I just need tome coppery paint now. ;-) I'll put pics up soon.
Still waiting on Cruzer and Bleahhh. I got my snap fasteners and elastic. Yay! Just need the armor now. And I just bought another of Asok's helmets. I'm going to make it into an Open Seasons Jango Helmet.
SO all I need is the armor (paint and weather it) and my jumpsuit! Then everything gets attached and we are ready to roll!
BTW the 212th is still up for sale as well as some other items in the cargo hold. Thanx
Great work man...looking forward to the open seasons lid!
B
Asok just informed me that my helmet is the 1st one from his new mold! Ha! I feel honored. ;-) Can't wait to work on it. Love his helmets.
Those look GREAT!! You might want to double-check the reference photos though; for some reason I think the tip is black as opposed to silver. Awesome job!!
Thanks obro! It's silver. I checked. ;-) Good call tho. Definitely something to double check.
Jango Fett Costume - The Dented Helmet Gallery
so is the suit about done then??
Hmmmmm.....thanks for the correction M! Looks like I'm gonna have to make a very slight change. I can't wait to see this entire thing come together for you. You've put in a MASS amount of work, especially considering you started with a full set of self-made metal armor. You could almost be done with two complete suits at this point. You're a MAD MAN!!! Keep up the great work!!
haha! These are mad times we live in, MAD! Yeah thanks a bunch obro. Your stuff is looking great yourself! Almost done over here. Just waiting for my jumpsuit from bleahh and my leg armor from cruzer. Almost done. I think after this baby is done, I'll just stick with doing helmets. I love those. ;-) Always wondered, are you the darth vader in that pic?
M - Yes, that's me and my wife (fiance) at the time. It's one of our many engagement photos that included my MR Vader helmet; it was kind of a "Where's Vader (Waldo)" engagement book. By the way, was that a HP6 quote you used there??? Lol!!
@ obro
Yes it is totally Prof. Slughorn from HP6. Funny story, my siblings and I just recently started watching the series. Why it took us so long, I honestly have no idea. Love those movies. They're great. Nice thing about starting them late is that they're really cheap on dvd and we've only been waiting for a month for The Deathly Hallows Part 2. haha!
I have everything for jango, except the jumpsuit, which I am tracking heheh. Should arrive by the end of next week. I'm actually repainting my armor, as I found something new that will look better. These things take time eh?
LOL! Of everyone on these boards, I swear you have redone your armor more than anyone else.....in such a short amount of time!!! LOL....and it just KEEPS GETTING BETTER!! Keep up the great work, and keep on with the updates!!
Hi man, where did you buy your helmet and cod piece? ($ ?) I want to buy another helmet and cod, ....ah....... I used leather black gloves and I want to find in blue, but is hard to find by me, if you know where they are for sell in web let me know, here is the premiere of my costume in june 6, check out......, see you.............
![]()
OK! My suit should be pretty much done.....TONIGHT! I am literally almost there. Just a few little detail things to do. Pics will be up soon!
Forgot to ask for input. Thanks guys
Hey Mhlayne- Congrats man..that looks great!!!
here is some input ....look at page one then look at page 4 and you have come a long way.
CONGRATULATIONS on finishing! And to think, you only started over THREE TIMES! LOL
!!
The only input I would have is: 1) The shoulder armor looks like it significantly hangs off of the vest. If you can possibly trim it down without making it look like they (armor) were made for a child, that would help. 2) The distance between the top of the Girth and the bottom of the ab plate looks a little more than normal; that could just be because you were moving alot though.
Just for reference, I found this GREAT FRONT/BACK pic on the 501st website. This is what I'll be using when I FINALLY start getting everything together and fitted. If I'm not mistaken, I THINK it might be TDH's own SEEKER!
Congratulations again. Great Job!!
yep that is Seeker.
And if may brag,.. if you look down the list of parts, several of the parts pictured are mine. I took the pics and sent them in over on BHG and they used them, I couldn't believe that some of my work is in the Jango Fett Library. I just find it awesome that I will be wearing some tof the actual pieces pictured there.
Congratulations bro!!!!!!!!! good job!!!!!!!!!!!!ready for 501 if yoy want!!! ah: can you give me the email of crusader? I need a new codpíece and I writed to him a along time ago (I think that I have a wrog email) , but I dont received a answer, the cod you buyed in $?.......thanks
Looks great! Rock n roll!
