Jango Fett Build

Viper

Active Hunter
I'm working on a Jango Fett Costume. I am brand new here on TDH and Jango is the second costume I'm working on. I'll try to post a lot of "the process" photos. Please leave me feedback! What's good and not. I want it to be good. I have been working on a homemade girth belt. Not quite finished yet. And no, I wasn't able to do it all in leather. It's a cheaper version that'll hopefully look great.

Girth Belt:
-1 pack of Con-Tact Grip premium liner. It's like, cupboard liner. It's decently thick, a light brown in color, and leathery in texture. It comes in an 18in x 4ft. So plenty of room to work with.
-Gorilla glue. I'll end up needing another tube.
-Duct tape. Just a little bit
-And 100ft of 1/4in braided nylon and polypropylene rope. I cut lengths of 38 inches for my belt and using weights and stuff have been glueing everything together. I just need some more glue now.

I'll try to post pics of the work in progress.

Here are some pics of what I have so far. And I picked up the supplies at HomeDepot. The leather-like liner was $5. The rope was around $10 (I still have some left). And the gorilla glue was about $6 or $7.

I still have trimming to do, as well as securing the two sides in the back. And then the final stage....coloring. Jango's girth belt is a mixture of dark brown, a bit of "orange", with a reddish tint correct? Sort of....I'm trying to think of a kind of wood it looks like. Anyway, I've been looking at Cruzer's belt. Crazy stuff right there. I'll try to use his colors as a good reference.

Reading the first post I didn't think that sounded like it would work. However after seeing the pictures you might be able to pull that off. I will be interested to see how the paint and colors go on the products for the end result.

Keep posting your progress pics.

My first blaster came today. I have done some touch up sanding, etc. My other one should arrive shortly. They are a resin 1:1 scale kit. 4 Pieces. After the sanding and just overall "cleaning them up", they look pretty good. I got them from an ebay seller "coolmodels". Decent price, including shipping they were $42 each. I'm using some drilled holes with pieces of wire along with the glue to hold them together better. I'll show a pic of that.

Thanks to Galactic Bounty Hunter! I bought a Man Of War Jetpack from him and 20 minutes after I put in the order, he had shipped it and hit me with the tracking number. That's what I call business. ;-) Thanks again man!

I used a generic walmart chrome paint that came out very chrome looking...almost mirror like. For the handle I used a pewter colored model paint from a hobby shop and the gold... you can get a really nice 24 carat gold paint at Michaels Craft store.

Well...I need to go paint shopping. Need to get some of that "chrome" paint. I have put 1 pistol together and need to clean up and put together the other one. There are some resin pieces that need to get sanded off. They are longer and thinner than a plastic Jango blaster.

It's been a little while since I posted some stuff. Well...I had to make a new girth belt. Gorilla glue is terrible for this kind of thing. In this business I have learned that you reach success through trial and error. Case and point. ;-) SO! I have now got an insane girth belt that is drying from the stain right now! See pics. Hot glue is amazing by the way. Absolutely amazing. I may need to go back with some more stain because it's drying a bit lighter than I wanted.
Materials:
Once again using the leather-like cupboard liner.
1/4 inch Nylon rope. 100 feet is recommended.
Super de duper tape. Spiced up duct tape. Not the brand name.
Cherry Wood stain.
And last but not least...multiple sticks of hot glue! And a hot glue gun.
*None of this could have been done without the help of my younger bro. Thanks D!

So...check out the pics. And hit me with some feedback.

My armor came in a few days ago and I have been trimming, forming, reshaping, painting, re-painting, and painting some more. It's starting to look really cool. I got the kit from schubiwon on ebay. Sturdy stuff. Good deal on it. But requires a decent amount of trimming and reshaping. And you'll have to get different knee armor. And foot armor. I made mine. I'll show pics of armor later. Thanks guys.

Basically the 1st girth belt ended up way too stiff and some glue was showing on the front from leaking through. :-(
Not this time! ;-)
Both pistols are put together and I'm working on painting those. Waiting for some stuff to dry on the cod piece and the shin pieces. Then I have to sand them and get the shape all squared away.

Is this helmet too big???? I almost feel like a bobble-head. I'm 6-1 and 180 lbs with decently wide shoulders. It looks/feels to big for me.
