Trying to understand your question. You want better quality than fiberglass resin?
Looking for something stronger?
Overall a fiberglass/resin helmet is pretty much the way to go. Light weight, fairly strong. The movie kids were fiberglass as well.
If you have a shop full of metal and all the tools suppose you could do metal, but that would be a hellacious undertaking.
Apologies if I am misunderstanding your question.
 
I'm sorry for not being clear, the current one I am working on has chips and air pockets in the resin... Just looking for a better quality fiberglass resin helmet I suppose. Thanks for the response man.

You won't go wrong with either of these from the gentleman above.
I have a BKBT lid and they're outstanding.
