Hi all, has anyone seen these in real life? I currently have some Rubbies ( which the bulbous part needs modifying to fit into my holsters) and I don't want to spend 400 in MR's just yet.
I was curious as to how good the prop kits are?
thanks![]()

Ya know, I was on the fence as well. I've seen them pop up on ebay in the past and wonder about them myself.![]()
There is a resin prop maker that sells on ebay. I see him alot at cons. I will try to find his ebay name and post it.
EDIT: Nope can't find him, but are geeting close to DragonConn, maybe he will start selling again. Yes Yes I know D*C is 6 months away........... :p

do you remember what the quailty is like?
The ones I've seen look pretty good. They'll require some cleanup and rubnbuffing of course, but they looked good in my opinion.
The last time I saw his work was at last year's Super Mega Fest in Boston. Very crisp details no major airbubbles at all. A few of them had some pinholes in them, but what cast doesn't. I would estimate 10 - 20 minutes of work to prep them for painting.
I am looking for a set of his Jango blaster so I can stick the stupid "don't-shoot-me" tips on them. I don't want to mess up my main blasters.
ok thanks.... so he is from the USA, hmm what about the guy from down undah? he currently has a set up on e-bay. ?
it's either that.. or buy some MR's... or find/make an internal drum sander so I can sand down the flash supressors evenly so that they are more accurate.
I've seen that guy too at DragonCon, a booth with nothing but resin kits. The name was Starship Models I think. If that's the guy you're talking about, I'd have a hard time buying anything from him. I'm 99% sure he's copying other peoples work.Originally Posted by tk-938
ok good to know.to recasters
check out coolmodels on ebay. thats where I got mine from
I actually ended up buying some MR's
yeah I think in the long run, I'd like to upgrade my blasters to mr's and my gauntlets to MOW's other than that, I love my Jango!
Kivas, are you the one that got those open box MR blasters earlier this week on Ebay. I bidding on those, but $200 was my limit, since someone else
(maybe you) bid the same earlier, I lost. Have fun with them, I'll keep searching. Still interested in the Resin models as long as they are MR size. ANYONE?
I might sell mine here soon depending on whether i get a set of mr's
I have those kit blasters, they are MR sized because they are cast from MR's. Everything that person makes is recast off of someone else's work. As for the casts themselvs, they are ok. I worry about using them since they are resin they feel like they would break. Also since the barrel is seperate from the handle you have to figure out a permant way to attach them. Also the tip of the barrel is seperate, you have to drill it out and insert the barrel and glue it. Overall I would suggest saving the money and getting the MR when you can. As soon as I can get some new ones I will be selling the resin ones I have.
yeah, I just passed the same thoughts on in pm. plus, they're a pain to get sanded nice and to get looking clean. for what you end up paying for them, you could save a little longer, and get something so much better.
Ya that was me... I didn't think I would get them for that..
