I'm in a similar situation, except the exact opposite. My recommendation is to have someone with experience and knows what they're doing to handle that. I'm pretty sure I exclaimed "I need an adult" when I realized I shouldn't be handling a thread and needle

Did I mention VERY slow progress??? Got the collar and chest pieces located and bolted up. Official out line for ab armor related to chest and location of girth belt. Ready to grommet vest and then locate bolts on plate......Slow but forward progress is better than none lol.

Looking good man, really digging the chest piece. and the Flak jacket looks very proportional. when you put on the Coveralls it will look amazing.

Thanks man! Will take some better pics this weekend once I get the ab plate on, and the girth belt strung up. Then time to locate the cod-piece and holsters AND gulp, backplate.

Also gotta use a little hot water to reshape the bend on the collar edges. Needs to curl down a little bit. Hot water, bend, then dunk in very cold water ought to do the trick.

Finally got the holster belt located to the cod piece.
Tomorrow I'll cut the excess holster strapping, relocate the posts, then locate the thigh armor.
was thinking to go with two Chicago screws per thigh. Good idea or bad?

I think two is a good idea. I only have one per side but had intended to have two all along. I just got the one in place for a troop and then never went back (over the past 2 or 3 years) to put the other Chicago screw in.....one of these days I may get it done.

One other thing that you may want to do after you get everything sized is to cut off the "wings" on the cod. I saw where Seeker did this and followed his lead. It makes it more comfortable to wear.

Should I use some contact cement on the nylon to the cod piece to make it stay put. I have 3 Chicago screws thru the webbing and cod piece
.Seems like it wants to pull away, but the screws should hold it.

Was glad to get to cut down the straps that fasten around the thigh, and move the stud to a useable space. My brain is disconnecting as I type, going to go to a corner to drool

If you attach the cod to your jetpack harness rig it will keep it in the right place & not want to sag down. I used some nylon webbing that I sewed to the harness & a couple of quick connect buckles to the cod.

Quick connectors is a great idea. I have snaps on mine to connect the cod to the jet pack harness and to be honest they are a pain in the rear.

Working on a few other things so this one fell thru the cracks for a bit.
Now trying to wrap my head around how to do the button slits and elastic strapping on the knees and shins.

glue your snaps on your armor pieces place your pieces where they need to be then using a fabric marker mark where your snaps are for your button holes to get your suit altered and also when you place your armor pieces you need to determine where to sew sewing velcro to keep the pieces from shifting and heavy duty sticky velcro on the armor loop fuzzy on the suit since you have just 1 elastic strap that's how they did it on the screen used

How do you run the elastic thru the suit for the knees/shins?
Fasten it to something to put the snaps on and leave it in the suit?

On the shins I have the elastic sewn to the suit and to snaps, then I run my legs through the loops. On my knees I have the straps ran through the slits and attached to the knees. So I do a combination of both styles.
