I couldn't ever get just the brass ring at the front to unscrew without un-doing the bottom set screw and turning the brass ring along with the flared barrell end. That is why I suggested that method. Jango 5204 is totally correct but mine I guess were put together pretty tightly as well. I hope you get it.

I give up. My hands are raw...I bought new super grippy jar openers, I used WD-40, tools...and they won't budge. I guess I'll just have to paint the tip

They must have used thread lock on yours. I was going to say that if you can't get them out you could always drill a hole through them then stick something through the hole to try to pull them out. I don't know how far you want to go to get them out. You could also get some gold rub n buff and try to cover the orange using a q-tip.

Certainly a sweet kit you've go there. The hoses appear to be black or is that just the lighting on the pic? I dont mind the black hoses as it would appear they show up as such in the movie to the normal eye. I assume they may be a shade of blue however given the effort you've got in the suit! Well done.

Thanks...the hoses are dyed an accurate blue, they just show up black in a lot of photos.

Can I take a moment to ask, the areas surrounding the edges of your various pieces of armor, was the effect added by sponge?

I did use a natural sponge at times...but the technique is more about dabbing on the paint with a paint brush and wiping/dabbing off excess with a paper towel. Once you get the technique down it is pretty easy and it looks natural. It is Seeker's method.

Hey man, we all gotta start somewhere! let Fox tell ya how long its taken him to get here. Besides, you can cruise the old threads for lotsa great ideas. You'll see lotsa costumes that'll make you think "Where in the world did he get that?" Point is, its not about the criticism on the costume, its about people giving you positive feedback, making suggestions and encouraging you to keep at it so you can get to something like what you see in this thread.
