Jango colors

I have looked around the site and I can't find a listing of the correct colors to use on Jango's helmet. I have a painted helmet that I have done some repairs to. I wanted to find the right colors to redo the light blue around the visor and the dark blue on the mandibles. I know that the Boba colors are listed for rattle cans, is there a list anywhere with the Jango rattle can colors?

Also is there any paint brands that work better than others?

I used "Krylon short cuts Ocean Blue" and "Rustoleum Royal Blue" (for cheeks, ear caps, and RF)

Those are the colors... The Krylon will most likely need to be purchased online as it doesn't seem to be sold in stores anymore... the other you can snag most places (Lowes, Walmart, etc...)

found the Royal blue and it is a perfect match, no luck yet on the Ocean Blue...............I may try some paint stores and then order it if it can't be found. You would think that stores would realize how important this color is to me and be kind enough to stock it.

I searched online the other day and found a place that advertised the Red Cap postal blue coveralls in Dallas. It happened to be a few blocks from a class I was going to so I thought it would work out perfect. Then when I stop by there they say they don't actually stock them in the store front even though it says so online. It appears that every piece of a Jango costume has to come through the mail.

I found my shortcuts ocean blue at Ace hardware on a end cap not in the paint lockers, but that was a couple months ago.

There isn't an Ace near by me but we may be going to Plano in the next couple of days and there is an Ace there. I also noticed that now that I started this thread the other past threads show up at the bottom in the similar thread section.

Shouldn't there be a sticky in the Jango forum with these colors posted. That would probably be helpful.

hmmm, yeah, I believe a paint reference thread should be stickied... maybe someone can ask Asok to do that

Good luck on trying to find Ocean Blue... I have an Ace and they didn't have it, had to order it... Bought extras, I may even have some extra cans lying around the house still

Is rub and buff a brand name? I will need some of the silver to touch up and to fix some overspray that I had...............lack of taping and impatience costs you on these projects

Ok I found the rub n buff at Hobby Lobby and answered my own question. Thought I had found the Ocean Blue for a minute but it wasn't

Jo-Ann's also has Ocean Blue back in their crafts section. Michael's might, as well.

TLobe -- did you get my paint chip of the Cobalt BLue to compare to your Royal Blue? To my eyes, they're dead close, and I prefer the grittier feel of cobalt.

I finally gave up and ordered a case of the ocean blue from ace hardware online.

I have a second helmet on the way and I just figured I will stock up on the colors. I have a M-DSB helmet that should arrive any day now. I was nervous about painting a helmet when I got into this but now that I have been messing around on this Sgt Fang I think I am ready to go from the ground up.

I got in my order of Ocean Blue yesterday. I shouldn't admit this but some others may make this mistake too, if they have a helmet that was painted by someone else, I had the colors in the wrong places. I was thinking the royal blue was near the visor and the Ocean Blue was on the cheeks. After looking at the colors and paying attention to what the actual posting I realized my mistake. Sgt Fang had painted the helmet that I bought from him and used the royal blue and a much darker cheek color. I had assumed these were right and was trying to stay with the scheme. Now I will be doing some sanding and repainting.

I like the picture that is in one of the threads listed at the bottom of this page in Similar Threads. I think that picture should be in a sticky in the Jango forum.
