Jango Bucket

alright idk if whether to post this in mando or jango so im just posting it in jango.

ok well i've tried to make a custom bucket for a while now and i've tried a cupple times screwing it up and its gotten to point where im ready to just buy the freaking thing, so i found a costuming site that sales starwars costumes and i found a jango helm and i was wondering if this is a good helmet or not? (im trying to join the Mando mercs so does anyone know if this helmet repainted would work?)

dear god NO! that's the rubies two-piece. it's basically a walmart halloween mask that you have to glue the front and back together. it's paper thin and made to fit an 8 year olds head. one other thing, it looks nothing like that picture. i don't like to endorse anything by rubies because most of their stuff is just awful, but this helmet is about 100x better: http://www.discountstarwarscostumes.com/acc-jango-fett-collectors-helmet.html

there are a lot of mando's that use that for a base helmet for their customs.

Thanks for helping me there i was thinking about that one too and i was mainly going off price :p but yea thanks i guess i'll work on getting that one instead. Eather that or i'll end up trying the scratch build again. Again thanks for the save Ner'vod

saint_nasty, that's the adult-sized one. It's a little bigger than the Collector's Edition one-piece, but not as big as the BKBT Jango. It is thin, though, yes.

I'd say it's a good starter helmet if one is willing to put the time and materials into making it good -- new visor (or tinting added to the existing one), fliberglassed interior to hold the shape, 9" ring around the back to hold the curve, bondo, sanding, painting, etc...

I thought the two-piece was the better of the three...
Awww, ****, I got one off amazon, was planning on painting it...
I'm DOOMED!

anyway, it's a shame that I BOUGHT THE WRONG ******* helmet, as now I spent 38 bucks for nothing! I DON'T HAVE THE MATERIALS TO MAKE IT GOOD!
Guess I'll just sell it back on amazon if I don't like it...

@blue_jay - buying that helmet isn't the end of the world. there are lots of ways to make it look nice. also, just because the profanity filter does asterisk out the bad words, the admins and mods can still see the original post and they may take disciplinary action. i'm just letting you know because i've been busted on it in the past.

OFF TOPIC (a bit):

Looks like there is a Jango void that needs filling... I'll be molding this up and making gelcoat fiberglass copies in the next two weeks... for a reasonable price too.

There will be no seams to sand, and my plan is for it to be STELLAR right from the mold... ready to paint.

BACK ON TOPIC:

Hey Stomper. Great looking master you got there, I remember when you first started working on that awhile back. Your helmet is better suited for a boba, but your missing the dent. The reason is that the placement and design of the RF side of your helmet is exactly that of Boba's, plus, the little detail on the inner cheek on the helmet's left side is a boba detail. I'm assuming that since you don't have the dent that your going for Jango, and those are the only things that would throw it off. It's your helmet, but I wasn't sure if your going for Jango or not. Good job though

Thanks Chris,

I'm going for a "generic" Mando that can be used for Boba, Jango, or a custom. I have been working on this flippin' thing for over a year to get the final finish to the level I want it before I mold it... I have sanded, stripped and repainted this thing more times than I care to talk about.

This helmet should be a pretty good base to do whatever anyone wants to do with it regardless of which character or custom variant they want to do.
