    Jango Blasters

Anyone have any comparison pictures of the MR Westars compared to the Rubies (toy) Westars? A picture of them actually side-by-side, not individual images of them.

Are the toy Westars worth trying to have them painted? Or should I try to track down a pair of resin ones instead?

I would love to have the MR's, but they are hard to come buy, and I would be really worried about trooping with them...

If yoy can affird it, I would say go for the resin ones. They are eeally nice, and much more accurate than the rubies. I'm working on a kit right now, and I really like them so far compared to my old rubies. Goodluck!

I've got a set of the Rubies blasters, and I've compared them against a copy of the CAD drawings done by WizardofFlight. The Rubies version is pretty close to the MR in basic shape and size, but the main part of the barrel is an inch ( 1" ) shorter on the Rubies.

That's why the Rubies ones always look "off"

The barrel is shorter, and when I put my MR's beside the rubbies the other noticeable difference is the emitter end (bulbous part) is fatter.. if that makes sense.

Thanks everyone! That picture was great! Exactly what I wanted to see.

The rubies don't seem half bad...the porportions are a little off in some aspects - I wonder what it would look like chromed and what not.

I have a friend of mine (someone in our Garrison) who owns a Auto Body Repair and Paint shop - maybe I get to to paint one up for me just out of curiousity. If anything comes of it I will post some pictures.

Also, anyone know where I could get a set of resin ones?

If your going to paint it anyway, I'd get the resin. Your holsters will have to be bigger to accomodate the bigger tip and then they'll look funny. Believe me I tried to use the toys.

I would ask for them in the cargo hold. I got a set from Cruzer, but he isn't a dealer or anything, it was just a set he had. Also, I believe ebay is another place where you can get them, but then you don't know the quality of your cast and what not.

It looks like they are back on the market. I just picked up one at Party City for $12.98. They look ok, but I'll be scratch building the ones for my Jango.

I use my Rubies for certain troops and run my MRs for the fancy occasons. If you dont or are not allowed to pull out your blasters at an event use the Rubies OR if you let kids handle your blasters alot use your rubies.

I will say this the main thing the rubies have over the MR is they actually make a fairly accurate sound.

    Re: Jango Blasters

Is there a way I could get you to take some close up comparison shots of the barrel tips? The other thing I would like if you could do is a close up on the MR right on the third indent on the barrel (the one right above the grip.

I am converting my Rubies right now and I would like to see what else I need to tweek. Thanks.

Are there any differences between the Rubies blasters and the Hasbro blasters? Other than the fact that the Hasbros are "chrome"?
