General magnet gauntlet closure questions

Hi everyone. It has come timeto do something about my gauntlets. As some of you may have experienced putting gauntlets on by yourself is an almost impossible task if you use a piano hinge and pin method. Well it is for me anyway. I am going to try a new method. I tried side release buckles at one point but that was more difficult to take off. My plan is to use rare earth magnets so I can put them on myself.

I know this has been done before, but I wanted to see what everyone thought. Maybe those that have done it could post up some opinions. I am planning on getting these.

K&J Magnetics - Products

They have a 9 pound pull force. I am going to put 3 sets on each gautlet. I wondered if that was enough strength to keep them closed? The last thing I want to have happen is a guantlet fall off and break. Does anyone know of stonger magnets? They have to be magnetized like these so they take up less room in the gauntlet.

hey brother, check out what i did...

i had the gauntlets on, and flailed my arms about and the magnets never came open...i am sure with a powerful enough bump it could happen, but i wouldnt have anyone close enough to me in full set up to be able to unload enough force to knock of my guantlets...:) next time 'round i will probably use the same method, but with 2 smaller square magnet sets added, one in front, and one in back...

Aye, magnets worked really well on my MOW Boba gauntlets and will be using the same method for Jango. Some folk say it leads to cracks on the gaunt but if closed carefully then it shouldnt be an issue.
